This video highlights some of the impacts of increasing social inclusion by empowering women and internally displaced persons (IDPs) in civil works activities in two important Somali cities: Garowe and Baidoa. These activities are being supported under the Somalia Urban Resilience Project II, also known as the Nagaad Project (meaning “prosperous settlement” in Somalia). This Project is funded by the @WorldBank. @Sunshine_Som is pleased to have documented their projects in Garowe and Baidoa.

Meet Abdullahi in Jinale IDP camp who was displaced by drought in Somalia. He was struggling to support his family when he received a cash transfer from UN-Habitat. Abdulahi used the money to start a fishery business, and he is now thriving. He is able to support his family and provide support for the community. @EU_in_Somalia

Ambulances are essential for saving lives in Mogadishu, where access to healthcare can be limited. Thanks to the support of UN-Habitat through the @EU_in_Somalia.
