I remember her being criticized when she said she needed the salary for rent.

@agent_kincaid @calvinfroedge Idk if you’re interested in an actual answer, but Congress members are expected to keep two residences, one in their home state, and one in Washington DC. Both NY and DC are super expensive, and I’m not surprised she might still have student debt. Most electeds are already rich.
