I’m proud to share my first published article in Leader to Leader, a peer-reviewed journal founded by Frances Hesselbein and Peter Drucker, and published by Wiley and the Frances Hesselbein Leadership Forum at the University of Pittsburgh.
Many journals speak to academics. Leader to Leader stands out by translating the best of leadership research into practical, timeless insight. Publishing here means being part of a tradition that connects research, mission-driven leadership, and real-world transformation.
Leader to Leader is a respected journal that explores leadership, strategy, and organizational transformation. It has featured thought leaders like Jim Collins, Marshall Goldsmith, and Margaret Wheatley.
My article, "THE GOLDEN HOUR: YOUR SECRET FOR UNLOCKING SUPERPERFORMANCE" is now available as open access. It reflects the ideas I’ve spent years applying in leadership development and operational improvement. I’d be honored if you gave it a read shared it with others and shared your feedback with me!

I have a confession to make. When I found out that Superperformance was named a Finalist in the National Indie Excellence Awards, my first reaction was not pride. It was disbelief.
On paper, I should not be here. I was a mediocre student who almost did not graduate from high school. I went to the cheapest university I could find, and I did not exactly light it up there either. Nobody who knew me at 18 would have bet on me writing a book, let alone an award recognized one.
But that is exactly the point of the book. Superperformance was never about naturally gifted people doing extraordinary things. It is about ordinary people, given the right tools and the right environment, accomplishing things nobody thought possible. Including themselves.
So yes, I am proud of this recognition. The National Indie Excellence Awards has been championing independent publishing for 20 years, and being named a Finalist puts Superperformance in some very good company.
But mostly I am grateful. To everyone who read it, shared it, challenged it, and put it to work on their shop floors and in their conference rooms: this one belongs to you too.
What is something you accomplished that your 18 year old self would never have believed?

This Memorial Day, we remember the heroes who gave everything for something greater than themselves.
Their courage, sacrifice, and service are the reason we enjoy the freedoms we often take for granted each day.
As we spend time with family, gather with friends, or simply pause for a moment of reflection — may we never forget the cost of that freedom.
Today is more than a long weekend.
It’s a reminder to lead with gratitude, purpose, and appreciation for those who made it possible. 🇺🇸
Thank you to the fallen heroes and the families who carry their legacy forward.

Have a problem? Time to whip out your handy-dandy notebook of improvement tools. 📓
DMAIC isn’t just a process improvement acronym — it’s a way to slow down the chaos and solve problems with intention.
🔹 Define the issue
🔹 Measure what’s happening
🔹 Analyze the root cause
🔹 Improve the process
🔹 Control what works
The best teams don’t just react faster.
They solve smarter.

Did you ever hear about "The Crab Bucket Mentality?" 🦀 - when people pull others down because they’re afraid of being left behind.
In unhealthy cultures:
• Progress gets criticized
• Ambition gets questioned
• Success makes people uncomfortable
Superperformance starts when we stop competing against each other… and start helping each other rise.
The strongest teams don’t create fear around success. They create ladders.
What kind of culture are you building? 🦀

Your strategy may not be failing.
It may just be getting lost in the middle.
Middle managers carry communication, alignment, accountability, morale, priorities, and execution — all at once.
When they’re overwhelmed, strategy turns into confusion.
Equip the middle.
Empower the people translating vision into action.
Everything flows.

Superperformance is now part of the Cameron – Brooks Reading Program!
A true full circle moment. 🇺🇸
In 1996, George Pesansky was absorbing the Cameron – Brooks Reading Program while serving in the military — learning leadership, growth, and the foundations of success.
Now in 2026, Superperformance is part of that same program.
What once inspired him is now helping inspire others.
Cameron – Brooks Reading Program: An initiative that provides books and leadership resources to military, veterans, and their families equipping them with the tools to grow, lead, and build better futures.
It’s a reminder that leadership isn’t just about achievement. It’s about creating something meaningful enough to pass forward.
Congratulations George! 🇺🇸

1996 🇺🇸
Long before Superperformance, podcasts, or leadership speaking…
There was this workbook.
The Cameron – Brooks Applicant Workbook became one of the earliest stepping stones in George Pesansky’s career journey — helping open the door into manufacturing, leadership, and operational excellence.
Looking back now 30 years later, it’s incredible how one opportunity… one resource… one decision to keep learning… can quietly change the direction of your entire life.
A nostalgic reminder that every career has a starting point.

"Every manufacturing operation I have ever walked into has a superhero.."
"You know who they are. They get called in at three in the morning. They save the order, fix the machine, get the invoice right. They wear a cape and they earn it.
The problem is not that they exist. The problem is that the organization builds itself around them instead of the other way around.
Follow that person around for a week. Every time they fix something, ask yourself one question: what would have prevented this? I promise you there is always an answer. And that answer is where your growth is hiding.
I talked about this with Justin Goethe on The Allied Advisors Podcast, along with the leaky cup, the S equals QA formula, and why mid-market manufacturers have a structural advantage that most of them are not using."

Success equals quality times acceptance. Most improvement initiatives have plenty of quality. They fail on acceptance.
This clip from Georges conversation with Justin Goethe on The Allied Advisors Podcast gets into why that happens and what you can actually do about it on the shop floor.

AI doesn’t fix broken leadership.
It amplifies what’s already there.
⚠️ Bad communication → faster confusion
⚠️ Unclear processes → scaled inconsistency
✅ Strong leadership → leverage
The organizations seeing real results with AI aren’t just training software…
They’re training people.

AI Myths Debunked
Most teams think AI will improve performance.
But that’s not what actually happens.
You can have the best tools…
👉 And still get zero value.
Because performance doesn’t come from what you install. It comes from what people actually use.
If your team doesn’t understand it…doesn’t trust it…or doesn’t see where it fits…
They won’t use it.
And if it’s not used?
It’s not valuable.
⚡ Clarity drives adoption. And adoption is what drives results.
💬 Where is AI actually being used on your team…and where is it just sitting there?

Most companies are so focused on filling the cup that nobody is fixing the holes.
In this clip from George's recent conversation on The Allied Advisors Podcast, Justin and George get into what the leaky cup actually looks like on the shop floor and what it takes to move from patching leaks to preventing them.

Most teams aren’t running on systems…
They’re running on people who remember everything.
Until they don’t.
That’s when things break.
Clarity scales.
Memory doesn’t.
