@ChrisO_wiki I think the majority of the Brits are decent people, it’s just the voice of the far right is louder than the quiet sensible folk sitting in the wings. When push comes to shove, good people take action. We can NEVER allow US style politics here!
@TheZignal@ChrisUKSharp X is fantastic for news, but using it, you have to accept violence, racism, pornography, vitriol, doxing, scammers, trolls & bots. It’s a sad state of affairs. Platforms are too rich and powerful and can’t be allowed to call the shots. I hope more countries act and things change.
@Truly_Anomalous@ChrisUKSharp That’s great that you can manage this, Dan. Thousands and thousands of parents can’t. Hopefully you can see that this might benefit young minds, other than your children.
@ChrisUKSharp Yes, YouTube has educational benefits and hopefully can be regulated to ensure children cannot access harmful content. But you can’t persuade me that social media is in anyway beneficial for young minds. I have family who work in education, who would welcome an outright ban.
@ChrisUKSharp Dangerous toys, unsafe food, or defective products are removed because of our safety standards and regs, not by saying “parents need to parent.” RCPCh, Young Minds, Mental Health Foundation, Barnardo's say social media is a severe risk to our children.
@Truly_Anomalous@ChrisUKSharp Social media is 24/7. You cannot observe every interaction, message, or piece of content a child encounters. Peer pressure seriously exists outside of parental control. We don’t respond to dangerous toys, or unsafe food by saying “parents need to parent.” We remove them!
@disclosureteamx I hope so. My son’s friend who has been in the RAF for many years, says pilots see them all the time now. I wonder if they are documented?
@AlistairCarns@FennellJW I don’t accept those who say that @AlistairCarns is just being disloyal to the PM. Defence of our country affects us all and that should be the PM’s primary objective. If Al and Healy say the PM is putting us at risk, believe them! Worrying times.
@archer_rs Our neighbours in a chain who recently moved, all had to contribute to paying for one person in the chain to stay in an Airbnb for a month! And they did, to prevent the chain collapsing! Not quite £20k though!
