Base finally distance itself from this whole memecoin cesspool.The crying "big heads" on X right now are just furious that their free money faucet got practically shut down.Everyone knows how worthless this stuff is.99% of people lose money by falling for crypto scammers,FOMO is too big, while the only ones making a fortune are insiders and Twitter "big heads" they treat their own followers as exit liquidity.If you made money on some meme coin,congrats next time just go buy a lottery ticket(same thing).Look at Solana,what’s actually left there?Almost all cash flow based on draining people's wallets suddenly dried up.
The whole "creator coins" on base trend was embarrassing mistake.@jessepollak dropping his own token was easily his biggest faux pas.I hope he didn't earn a single cent from it.Nothing gets forgotten in crypto world.For example for a few years from now,when Base potentially becomes a cornerstone of global banking,and founder's memecoin is sitting at -90%.Thankfully,the era of this pathology at that scale is over.Change of direction was the only right decision,and props to them for making it fianlly.
Base App also change diretion,they leave Farcaster integration.Nobody misses it,it simply was never needed.But cooling off on mini-app support in my opinion is irrational.
Let’s be real,we all know how most of mini-app looks like right now.Most apps on Base are unplayable junk built to created activity for you know what.But there are still users there.Why not leverage that?We have real traffic,so why is support for small builders drying up?
Thanks to AI,any regular guy off the street can sit down today and build a game or an app on base,that just a few year ago would have been abstraction, without deep programming skills.Everyone starts somewhere.Zuckerberg didn't wake up with a finished Facebook,before creating it,he created a ton of dumb,shit games & apps.
By ignoring small builders,Base is shooting itself in the foot.If you don't give them space and support,another network will step in and embrace them,next tech giant will be theirs.Coinbase and Base have a bright future ahead,but distancing from builders is huge,You are giving up a huge slice of the future to someone else without any efforts.I hope @cobie will make base app great again.
