In "Playing Changes" @PantheonBooks, Nate Chinen observes that many narratives of jazz history present the music as a linear trajectory of progress, from its roots to canonization as a high art. @SuperlinkJ12 reviews in @culture_jazz 8.2. @MichaelCHeller

Yesterday, we lost a music legend and, more importantly, a beautiful, luminous human being. Shaun Martin touched so many people during his life and through the beautiful immortality of music, will continue to do so. There’s so much that can be said but words can’t do justice. RIP

Got one of those gimmick printed hurdy gurdys that you gotta put together 😂 I’m no good at it, and I messed up a bit on the drone string, but the mechanics are there. It even came with rosin, despite using fishing line strings. Still, it was a fun project to do! hard to turn tho
All I’m saying is that the internet should know by now that when I type in “UNT catalog” I never mean the course catalog, only the library. Yes, it’s my fault, but if AI is gonna take over the world someday, I at least want SOME benefits.
Many thanks to the UNT Library and @UNTMusicLibrary departments for giving our GAMuT members a tour of both wonderful Special Collections! We had such a blast and enjoyed exploring the materials deep in our own archives.
