The legendary voice of Cyclops across TV and games, Norm Spencer, passed away six years ago today at the age of 62 🕊️

Norm Spencer was Cyclops. ❤️🕯️

Spencer gave Scott Summers the firm, commanding presence that made him feel like the X-Men’s field leader. He was also the voice behind those unforgettable “Previously, on X-Men…” recaps that instantly told fans another adventure was about to begin.

And his Marvel legacy didn’t stop with the show. Spencer carried Cyclops into Spider-Man: The Animated Series and classic fighting games, where his booming “Optic Blast!” became permanently attached to the character.

Some of his most remembered roles include:
Cyclops / Scott Summers (X-Men: The Animated Series)
Cyclops / Scott Summers (Spider-Man: The Animated Series)
Cyclops (X-Men: Children of the Atom)
Cyclops (X-Men vs. Street Fighter)
Cyclops (Marvel Super Heroes vs. Street Fighter)
Cyclops (Marvel vs. Capcom 2)
Drax the Destroyer (Silver Surfer)
Billy Blazes (Rescue Heroes)
Hades (Mythic Warriors: Guardians of the Legend)
Sly Fox (Dumb Bunnies)

Cyclops has had other voices since.

But for fans who grew up with the ’90s X-Men, Norm Spencer is still the sound of Scott Summers putting on the visor and taking command.

Rest in peace, Norm Spencer. Six years gone, never forgotten. 🕊️

@DARUSSIANBADGER after gta 6 game graphics do not need ANY more improving. we've peaked

[Ramattra567 @Supersiyanfredd]

@ZayOsirisGaming @skippyboi69 knowing what happened with monument of triumph they very well MIGHT make it free. sony is betting everything on marathon for revenue. they gave the dev's creative and financial control over MoT so who's to say they MIGHT not let them keep that control

[Ramattra567 @Supersiyanfredd]

@RIVALS_Status he's either gonna be a duelist or a strat. if he's a duelist that sets up gorr as a vanguard. season 11 first hero is a strat then we get doom. if he's a strat then gorr will be a duelist. they'd have to release doom early as a vanguard for season 11

[Ramattra567 @Supersiyanfredd]

@Sergeant_Spyro @LightZ323 @Sunnyssunshinee everything from before chapter 5 season 4 is unable to comeback. every season including C5S4 after 18 months of the original season being released is allowed to return to the item shop at any time
