Minnesota’s Safe Harbor Law ensures young people who are sexually exploited are treated as victims and survivors, not criminals. Through the No Wrong Door model, these youth can receive trauma-informed support rather than being treated as juvenile delinquents.

The legal definition of mandated reporting is any individual who holds a professional position that requires them to report to appropriate state agencies cases of child abuse that have reasonable cause to suspect is a mandated reporter.

Last year Support within Reach had the opportunity to start a girls’ group with the school social worker from a Cass County School. The group size varied from 4 to 8 girls weekly and it was a wonderful opportunity for everyone involved. The group is starting up again this year.

Support Within Reach provides medical advocacy for victims of sexual assault. Listed below is how advocates advocate for you while at the hospital.

• Offer accompaniment and support during and after the exam
• Explain the process of the exam, its purpose, and approximate time.

Support Within Reach is happy to announce that we are hosting a forum event with the two candidates running for sheriff in Beltrami County at Bemidji State University. The forum will be centered around questions pertaining to sexual violence and the advocacy work as well.
