gyaku tembin (Shorinji Kempo techniques)
"gyaku tembin" is a technique initiated by grasping the opponentâs wrist yourself.
While most Shorinji Kempo techniques are defensive responses to attacks, there are a few like "gyaku tembin" that are proactively executed.
There are several key points to be careful about in this techniqueâhow to grip the wrist, how to apply pressure to the wrist joint, and how to step in when turning your back to the opponent.
This technique is learned as a Kyu Kenshi, but the skills developed here are often used again when learning black belt-level techniques.
