Hi all,
I enjoy watching football (soccer), a little too much, and am looking to write match reports and articles.
I want to help create an environment where fans can express themselves and be treated with respect, no goading or judging.
I’d love to hear from football fans all over the world about your team and why you love them. Talk to me about what’s going on at your club and what the future holds.
From GW13, I will be creating match reports for all National League games. I won’t be able to watch them all live, but will watch the full match replays and give my thoughts after. If you have any suggestions along the way, please get in touch.
I do this for the love of the game, and if I’m able to, would love to do this full time. I will be looking to take a course in journalism etc, so again, if you have any ideas please do connect.
Have a great day!

Two unbeaten sides go head to head with Liverpool hit by injuries and City hit with 115 charges.
Alexander Isak and Cody Gakpo will be the noticeable absentees for the home side making way for Lewis Komas to make his first Premier League start.
Man City will want to show they will not be distracted and it is business as usual. The away end is loud with plenty of inflatable bananas on show.
The opening half of the half, saw tempers simmering and the Anfield crowd chanting at the city players for being cheats. Liverpool were the better team without troubling Donnarumma too much.
Gravenberch being a standout player with his battling and driving the ball forward with three successful dribbles and carrying the ball 75.4 meters with the longest being 37.3 meters inside the opening 25 minutes.
Victor Mũnoz caused all sorts of problems down the right with Nico O’Reilly needing to stay alert. It was also nice to see some nice touches and passes from Florian Wirtz as he awaits to light up the Premier League. For the visitors, Cherki and Ndiaye looked the most promising to bring Man City forward. Elliot Anderson was Cities midfielder who played with aggression, won tackles and forced the home side to be cautious when he was in proximity.
With the above, City got hold of the game towards the end of the first half and started to look dangerous. Semenyo dribbles were not quite coming off and the same can be said about Liverpools Bradley Barcola who found no joy in the half.
The second half started with a neat through ball by Barcola who found Mũnoz firing his shot down Donnarumma throat. Shortly after, Gravenberch and Mac Allister both had shots from distance which caused City problems. This gave the home side plenty of optimism.
Right away on the other end Semenyo forced in a low cross to see Kerkez clear the ball away as Ndiaye just missed the ball. Neither side afraid of having and end to end game.
With 30 minutes to play, a line splitting pass to Semenyo saw him play Erling Haaland through only for his shot across the goal to trickle past the post.
Right after the chance, Gravenberch already on a yellow card went in for a challenge on Doku and was harshly given a second yellow card. He’d been brilliant all afternoon and looked like himself and Wirtz could unlock Man City.
Doku, Semenyo and Cherki have shifted a gear with Iraola needing to make a decision.
Before the Liverpool manager could bring anyone on, a Doku shot deflected its way into the penalty area with an emphatic Haaland smashing the ball past Alisson to give City the lead.
To make matters worse, Jeremy Doku picked up the ball out wide and ran 20 yards with it before cutting in past two players and curling the ball past Alisson into the top corner. A superb goal which left Liverpool feeling that sinking momentum.
Van Dijk must’ve felt hopeless as he reared his team on with City fans singing ‘Ole’ with every touch of the ball as the game became all too easy.
Nothing could stop the City goal to make it 0-3 after some beautiful interchanges and flicks led to a skilful Cherki to score the third.
Enzo to Anderson to Doku to Anderson who laid it off for Gvardiol who flicked it back to Cherki who dropped his shoulder and placed it into the net. A wonderful goal all around.
It’s safe to say the sending off changed the game into City’s favour. Liverpool lost their fight and City continued to play their game which was too much for 10 man Liverpool. Gravenberch and a superb Anderson had brilliant games in midfield but have to credit Cherki with MOTM after he took control of the situation and gained his team advantages to progress.
Man City keep their 100% record in the league with 18/18 points secured so far to sit at the top.

Como v Roma
11th October 2026
A fast start from the away side saw Roma and Dybala causing all sorts of issues for the Como defence.
A great atmosphere in the stadium alongside both teams open to attack and create space had the makings of an exciting game.
Dybala had the first big chance in the 6th minute when left footed shot was struck right at the Como keeper, Butez.
Nico Paz found himself bearing down on goal at a tight angle with Gollini flying out to deny a Nico Paz dink to go in.
On the 11th minute, Pellegrini, took a first time shot after some smart footwork just outside the area to got the post.
The opening half hour was entertaining with both sides looking to attack and catch each other on the counter when possession turned. Butez had made a crucial 1v1 tackle v the impressive de Roon and Malen also seeing his shot hit the side netting.
Although both sides have had good moments it will be Roma in the opening third that would feel they should be ahead. They continued to look the biggest threat with Como having promising moments.
In injury time, Assane Diao running towards goal off the right, Wesley clips the attacker for the referee and VAR to not award a free kick and a possible red card.
Having the first half ending goalless does not tell us the story of the game.
The xG at HT was Como 0.31 - 1.00 Roma.
With Soulè replacing Pellegrini at half time, it’s unlikely Mora would’ve come on. Surely Dybala and Malen cannot make way unless there is an injury or change to a defensive shape.
RED CARD for Malen. After wrestling for the ball and the ball becoming loose, Malen stretches and comes down on Kaiki. A dangerous challenge and the decision was fair. There wasn’t intent to hurt but purely win the ball. With thirty five minutes to play, Cesc Fabregas and his tactical skills, it would be interesting to see how this plays out. For Roma, a win here would put them on top of Serie A.
Immediately after the card there has been an expected spring in Como’s step, however, Roma and Dybala are not giving up going forward either.
On the 67th minute, we had a surprising substitution, the referee needed to go off with a suspected injury. The hoards of equipment were exchanged whilst the fans patiently waited for the changes to be made. This reminds me of the Premier League, most grounds would be booing as impatience strikes.
As the half wore on it was expected to see Roma sit back more. They showed good composure, kept good shape and defended well.
The liveliest moment came when substitute Baturina tried an overhead kick but connected with Rensch instead.
Seven minutes of stoppage time gave Roma a scare but Como were not able to make a clear cut chance to win the game.
On another day, Nico Paz could’ve won the game with his 3 shots on target. Paulo Dybala looked lively and playing at his best for large parts of the game. Roma will be the happier team with the draw with Como frustrated being second best for large parts of the game.

Today’s posts will be match reports for the following
Como v Roma
Crystal Palace v Nottingham Forest
Liverpool v Man City
If I’m not seduced by the NFL, I may also cover Cagliari v Juventus too.
Como have won 4 of their last 5 and Roma are unbeaten in their last 5. Only three points separate them as the home side look to catch up. Looking forward to seeing Nico Paz and Rodrigo Mora. Serie A really is the home to number 10s this season with many young players too.
Forest head to South London where Palace will welcome (not sure if it will be warmly) their previous manager in Oliver Glasner. Both teams haven’t got the ground running yet this season but with some much change in the summer, I’m looking forward to seeing how far each team look to being at their best.
The numbers 115 are synonymous to Man City at the moment and we’re either going to see a deflated side or one of strength. What they won’t get is a warm welcome from the Anfield crowd. Both sides remain unbeaten in the league and will be Andoni Iraola’s first real test as Liverpools manager. Looking forward to how this game pans out, can’t wait for this one.
Please do give us a follow and talk and interact throughout the afternoon.
