We are recruiting!!
Are you interested in #Immunometabolism, #Macrophages, and their production of novel metabolites during health & disease? We have an open position for a postdoc in Vienna at @MedUni_Wien. Please DM or email me!
Small but mighty! This is a video of a killer T cell of the immune system destroying a monstrous ovarian cancer cell. I recently captured this data on a spinning disc confocal microscope.
@astromonocyte @IKarkossa @SchubertKris Monocytes differentiate into long needle-like macrophages when calcium is added into media (RPMI + FCS). These Ca-macrophages are a unique subset that is proinflammatory, phagocytic, and have migratory potential.
So happy to introduce calcium-macrophages to the world with our latest publication in Cell Death and Disease. Thanks to everyone who made this possible @astromonocyte @IKarkossa @SchubertKris

@StephlinaD @AcademicChatter@PhDVoice@PhD_Genie Students who complete their work in the lab should also be asked to evaluate their PIs. They could be brilliant scientists but not the best mentors...
I’m happy to share our work on #CancerMetabolism. We've profiled the metabolome 180 cell lines and showed that the metabolism of cancers falls into only two major classes, associated with their ability to migrate and invade. #metabolomics#lipidomics https://t.co/tg9hjF8CvX
We have an ERC-funded postdoc position available (up to 4 years) to work on NLRP1/CARD8 inflammasomes.

Please RT
I am searching for a postdoc/research assistant to investigate regulation of cell death and cytokine maturation. If you are interested in #caspase and #gasdermin ☠️, please contact me! RT appreciated.
Watching giant immune-system macrophages devouring bacteria via the process of "phagocytosis" is cathartic to me.

[1/n] "Oxygen" - If you know anyone in India - it's one word you hear over & over. It's a critical life saving supply. In context of COVID surge in India, we are sharing open source design for "pulse dose" O2 conservation device - potential to save 50% O2. Not medical device yet.
