Supervisor Representing the Third District: Anaheim Hills, Irvine, Orange, Tustin, Villa Park, Yorba Linda, North Tustin, Orange Park Acres and the Canyons
Today I toured the offices of Vietnamese media organizations with several elected officials including incoming Sheriff Barnes and our gracious host, Board Chairman Andrew Do. @joinandrewdo
The @harleydavidson community came together today in support of hospitalized children at the annual OCHOG Toy Run. I was co-chairman and rode in this event as well. My family attended and I connected with old friends, like event sponsor @WahoosFishTaco owner @Wahooswing.
Today was my final day serving on the @OCTA Board and I was honored to lead the invocation. I couldn’t be prouder of the work we accomplished during my 12 years. Fellow Director Shawn Nelson and I both received proclamations for our service, as it was his last day as well.
Los Angeles’ ludicrous stance on fire prevention has a direct impact on Orange County. Any preventable fire that erupts in LA, caused by vagrant campfires or smoking, drains much-needed resources from OC and puts the lives of our firefighters at risk. https://t.co/5aRKIvVbnx
I wanted the assurance before I left the Board of Supervisors that this land would be used for a cemetery. Board Chairman Andrew Do and I jointly introduced the item on the agenda, and I am pleased to say that today our item passed with unanimous approval!

Update: The Board unanimously approved the transfer of the 2,500-acre parcel to the OC Cemetery District for the creation of a Veteran-Civilian Cemetery in Anaheim Hills! Release to follow.
The land in Anaheim is a beautiful spot and it was very magnanimous of Mr. Donald Bren to give it to the county for free. We got it for nothing and should give it for nothing. It shouldn’t be used for anything else but to honor the memory of veterans and civilians!
I feel strongly veterans should be buried at El Toro, but if they can’t be buried at El Toro, they deserve to be buried in somewhere in Orange County. 391 of our bravest service members died in WWII, another 320 died in Vietnam. Our service members aren’t getting any younger.

Once again, a mass murderer has destroyed countless lives incl a brave Sgt. who tried to save victims during a shooting in Thousand Oaks. I’m heartbroken. THIS is why I’ve fought for stiffer laws my entire career. No words can express my anger over this incident.
Today was my 28th year running the Dino Dash 5k to benefit the Tustin Public Schools Foundation. Many thanks to the 7,000 runners who registered for various races today and my two dinosaur friends! @tpsf
In response, OC Supervisor Todd Spitzer @SupvToddSpitzerclaims DA Tony Rackauckas' @OCDATony new ordinance to require addiction recovery facilities to register with the county would create an "illegal fee." #SanClemente https://t.co/GTN53oM4IF
Board voted to keep details of a proposed new tax secret from residents. Vice Chair @OCSupNelson and I were only 'No' votes!

My condolences to the Tree of Life congregation, the entire Jewish community, and especially the families of the 11 people killed in Saturday’s mass shooting. I pray they will find strength in their healing. Prosecutors must now do their best to bring swift justice for victims.
