The first step towards meaningful engagement is acknowledging that the other side has a point of view worth hearing.

RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat ji’s remarks on Gen Z are a thoughtful beginning.

“Their grievance is genuine.”

He also makes an important distinction: in a democracy, protest is a legitimate means to build consensus when dialogue fails, but it must aim to resolve differences, not deepen divisions.

Recognising genuine concerns while reaffirming the value of dialogue is the hallmark of a confident democracy. If this becomes the starting point for engaging with Gen Z, it is a welcome and constructive step.

The Sonam Wangchuk episode is revealing.

After projecting him as the face of their politics and encouraging his indefinite fast, the Opposition appears to have left him to fend for himself. Wangchuk himself has now expressed disappointment, saying he had hoped Rahul Gandhi would personally come to break his fast, but received no positive response from the Congress leadership.

Ironically, while the so-called “liberal” ecosystem viciously trolled even his wife for expressing an independent opinion, the BJP, despite repeated criticism from Wangchuk and his wife, did not retaliate.

That is the difference.

The BJP has consistently shown that disagreement is not a reason for hostility. It has remained sensitive to the larger cause of education reforms and the welfare of students, engaging with issues rather than exploiting individuals for political optics.

Some treat activists as disposable props. Others respect the cause, even when they disagree with the messenger.

आंदोलनकारी छात्र पिछले 11 दिनों से JPSC और JSSC परीक्षाओं में पारदर्शिता और निष्पक्षता की मांग को लेकर आंदोलन कर रहे हैं।

अब, जब उनकी मांगों पर कोई सुनवाई नहीं हुई, तो वे भूख हड़ताल पर बैठ गए हैं। इस अनशन में दो छात्र और दो छात्राएं शामिल हैं।

लोकतंत्र में छात्रों की आवाज़ को अनसुना करना और उन्हें इस स्थिति तक पहुँचने के लिए मजबूर करना बेहद दुर्भाग्यपूर्ण है। हेमंत सोरेन सरकार को संवेदनशीलता दिखाते हुए उनसे तत्काल संवाद करना चाहिए।

ये किसी राजनैतिक दल के दलाल नहीं, छात्र हैं।

झारखंड में पेपर लीक के विरोध में छात्रों का आंदोलन लगातार तेज़ हो रहा है। बड़ी संख्या में अभ्यर्थी परीक्षाओं में हो रही धांधली के ख़िलाफ़ सड़क पर उतरकर संघर्ष कर रहे हैं।

लेकिन उनके आंदोलन में करोड़ों रुपये की स्पॉन्सरशिप नहीं है। वहाँ गाली-गलौज नहीं हो रही, देश तोड़ने के नारे नहीं लग रहे, सार्वजनिक संपत्ति पर हमला नहीं हो रहा, और न ही विपक्ष के नेता कैमरे लेकर दौड़े चले आ रहे हैं। दीपके, दास और रंका जैसे तथाकथित “छात्र हितैषी” गायब हो गए हैं।

छात्र आंदोलनों का अपना एक चरित्र होता है।

जो आज राँची में हो रहा है, वह छात्रों का वास्तविक आंदोलन है, परीक्षा व्यवस्था में पारदर्शिता और न्याय की माँग का आंदोलन।

The Prime Minister has constituted a high-powered task force to undertake comprehensive reforms of the National Testing Agency (NTA), signalling a strong commitment to restoring trust, transparency and accountability in the examination system.

The multidisciplinary panel brings together some of India’s most accomplished experts to recommend structural reforms, with a special focus on technology, examination processes and institutional resilience.

The task force comprises:
• Nandan Nilekani – Technology Expert
• Dr. S. Somanath – Former ISRO Chairman
• Tapan Deka – Former IB Director
• Prof. V. Kamakoti – Director, IIT Madras
• Anita Karwal – Former Education Secretary
• Amrit Lal Meena – Logistics Expert

This is a clear message that the government is addressing examination reforms with seriousness, drawing on expertise from technology, academia, administration, intelligence and logistics to build a more robust, secure and future-ready assessment ecosystem.
