India’s economy under Modi led BJP has gone worse from ‘fragile five’ to ‘vulnerable one’. No economy today is as vulnerable to growth, inflation, investment, exports, fiscal deficit shocks as India. Unhappy days ahead. Modi deforms have cost India badly. https://t.co/3sB1OwQLDu
For the first time, more than 10,000 women have qualified for IIT admissions.
Nearly 1 in 4 female JEE-Advanced candidates cleared the exam in 2026 — the highest pass rate on record.
Since 2019, the number of women qualifying has jumped 89%. In 2018, only 13% of girls who appeared made it through. That figure is now nearly 25%.

Just read this story. The rigging is so brazen to favour Adani. This is just the teeny tiny sliver of the tip of the iceberg. The whole economy of the country now runs on patronage to the cronies. Even lower level cronies like Vedanta are getting shafted in the process.
I have some advice for those impacted by what is looks like a CBSE scam. Please share this with those who are impacted:
A few days from now, maybe even today, a commission or a committee to probe this issue may be announced. Some bureaucrat will be transferred. Some minister might be moved to a different portfolio.
The system will now seek to calm this storm by doing pointless face-saving shit to buy time.
Media frenzy will die down. Journalists will move to a different story. Opposition will find a new issue to highlight.
You're not their priority. It's just how things work.
A few words of advice from an older hand who has done something to make things better re what you can do:
1. Don't give up. Don't stop till you get what you want. Identify a solution that you want. It could be a re-exam, or the demand for re-examination of marksheets. I don't know. Identify solutions and make a list. Demand outcomes.
2. Things will keep changing. Anticipate. Respond. Don't piss on anyone and don't make it personal. It's about the issue not the person.
3. Don't appoint a leader. Leaders get targeted, maligned and taken down. Don't give any lever to the dirty tricks departments. They're already rolling out their toolkits.
4. Twitter, YouTube and Insta are your turf. Don't go offline. Those rules are different. Cops are thugs. India is not Nepal / Bangladesh. Democratic process: Use your voice and the platforms you know better than the Ministry of censorship.
5. Mail your MP, MLA, political party people. Find their numbers and call them up. Calling really works. Flood the lines. Their emails and numbers are online. Tell them what you think. They'll need your votes in the future. Make them accountable to you by asking them to speak for you. Don't request. Demand that they do something. Be angry. That's how the message goes up the ladder. This should be your next step. If enough of you do this, things will change.
Find other ways to keep this alive without breaking the law.
There's an old blog post I've been thinking about a lot of late: Nobody cares. Just win.
I hope things work out for you.
It would take far more than a month to honor the contributions of queer and transgender New Yorkers.
From the Cercle Hermaphroditos in 1895, the first trans advocacy group in the United States, to the drag balls of the Harlem Renaissance, to the Stonewall uprising, to the Lesbian Herstory Archives, to ACT UP!, founded in 1987 as queer people fought for their lives while the Reagan administration looked away, New York City's history has long been shaped by queer and trans New Yorkers.
To all our queer and trans neighbors: you deserve a City where you can afford to live safely, openly, and joyfully.
Happy Pride, New York City.

In Madhya Pradesh, Students protested against the NEET paper leak and exam scams ruining the future of millions.
BJP's response? WATER CANNONS.
Force.
Detentions.
Students asking for fair exams are being treated like criminals.
This government fears questioning youth more than exam leak chain till Dharmendra Pradhan.

Latest: On May 10, PM Modi urged us to carpool, use public transport and save fuel.
We tracked his activities since the war began and found: in 70 days, he travelled to 53 cities, attended 81 events across 12 states, including 25 roadshows.
Only 13/81 events were official events. Reporting for @thewire_in with Aashna Ajmera:

We demand an immediate, independent audit of the 2026 CBSE Evaluation & OSM vendor tenders. I demand a fair, manual re-verification of my Chemistry paper without retaliatory marking. Our futures are not collateral damage for your administrative corruption! @dpradhanbjp@PMOIndia
Aren't you guys tired of this country's mismanagement? Life is not supposed to be this difficult for citizens. It's not like this in other countries. Please stop defending the government.
Indian Army taking over NEET exam logistics is not something to celebrate. It's reflection of how badly civilian agencies have failed.
Army picks up the NEET papers from printing centres
Bulletproof vehicles transport them to centre.
Army exists for national security, border protection, and defence. The fact that they now have to handle exam papers shows how police and other agencies have failed to control paper leak gangs.
A country should not need military-level logistics just to conduct a student exam fairly. Sad state of affairs.
Yesterday, I posted about my sibling’s petrol car getting stranded on the road due to a fuel pump failure. The company itself confirmed it was linked to a fuel blending issue related to ethanol.
But unfortunately, I had to delete the post because of immense pressure from higher authorities. For the first time in my life, I was forced to take down something purely out of concern for family safety and precautions.
The unfortunate truth is that whenever someone speaks up about ethanol-related issues, attempts are made to silence them. This may continue, but these problems won’t disappear and tomorrow it could be my own car stranded the same way.

I had a deeply unpleasant experience today while interviewing the star cast of the film Maa-Behen, featuring Madhuri Dixit and Tripti Dimri. The media interactions were being managed by MSL India @MSLGROUP_India, the PR agency handling Netflix, the platform on which the film is releasing. Everything was going smoothly until I asked the actors about Ranveer Singh being banned by FWICE for walking out of Don 3. As the actors began responding and I followed up on their answers, a PR representative in the room suddenly screamed at the top of her voice, “I’m sorry, we will not be taking any more questions on this.” Her tone was so loud and aggressive that not only I, but the entire star cast was visibly taken aback. I objected, but she repeated herself. I reluctantly moved on. A short while later, when I asked @dharnaaaaa331
about the hurtful incident where paparazzi asked her to step aside during promotions while focusing only on Madhuri Dixit and Tripti Dimri, the same PR lady screamed again, even louder this time, and demanded that I immediately wrap up the interview. I requested five more minutes, but she forced me to stop shortly after. These film promotion interviews are recorded exclusively on the cameras of the production/PR team. News channels are not permitted to use their own setups. The clear purpose of this arrangement is to maintain tight control over the content. The PR team can delete any portion they find inconvenient and then selectively share the edited footage with broadcasters. I dare the PR agency and the production house to release the full, unedited footage so everyone can hear the rude and completely unacceptable manner in which the interview was shut down on legitimate, ongoing issues in Bollywood.
While news channels must also introspect on why we continue to accept such restrictive arrangements, the bigger concern is the increasing high-handedness of PR agencies. Since when did they assume the role of gatekeepers who can bully, scream at, and rudely silence journalists? This particular agency takes pride in its association with the French group @PublicisGroupe
One would expect far more refined and professional conduct from a company linked to such a global name.
What surprised me the most was how the entire star cast — including the iconic Madhuri Dixit — appeared completely controlled by this obnoxious PR machinery.
Dear @netflix@NetflixIndia@NetflixFR - it is worth reflecting on the kind of people you entrust with promoting your films.
