A California sheriff's deputy was shot and killed on Thursday while serving an eviction notice in Porterville, officials said.
The Tulare County Sheriff's Office said deputies were in the area of Newcomb and Grand avenues around a.m. when 60-year-old David Morales allegedly opened fire, striking one deputy.
The wounded deputy was taken to a local hospital, where he later died. The sheriff's office identified him as 35-year-old Randy Hoppert, a six-year veteran of the department.

@MayorOfLA You went on TV and lied to the world - you said this was a non violent, soulful protest. That is a lie! What do you think of what this Los Angeles resident- a mother- experienced as she tried to get home with her babies in the car? Terrifying! RESIGN!!
@CAgovernor, you know for someone who says they don't need federal help, your state is always either burning or rioting every year, and you blame Trump.
