@XCzsnx No amount of socialist talking points will make up for a lifetime of being financially illiterate and lazy. Put down the ps5/xbox, and increase your merit. Society owes you nothing. You owe yourself.
It’s strange to think that it’s reasonable to be able to afford to live in an area like a beach city or major metropolitan area while young and still starting out. I notice your post says nothing about living in more affordable states/areas where you can actually do this? Maybe your post should say “I’m young, and can’t afford to live wherever I want, don’t make enough money and think that’s unfair”. Nobody owes you a thing. Not your parents, not society, not life. You owe yourself! From your post alone I can tell you need to spend some serious time working on yourself, and making yourself into a more powerful, effective person.

Your post seems completely devoid of personal choice. Do you have any studies to back this up? How many of these people they’re struggling drive a brand new car? How many have a luxury car? How many live beyond their means? How many didn’t care to invest in their future, invest in their education and just wanted to party? How many put in very little effort in life and are now complaining? Your post needs a lot of context.
@stelzner_n1150 Are you actually claiming that young people are supposed to be able to afford homes? I couldn’t afford a home until I was well into my 30s and even then it was a strain. You’re not supposed to be able to afford anything when you’re young. You haven’t built yourself up yet.
The 80/20 Rule states that you get 80 percent of the value out of something from 20 percent of the information or effort. (It's also true that you're likely to exert 80 percent of your effort getting the final 20 percent of value.) Understanding this rule saves you from getting bogged down in unnecessary detail once you've gotten most of the learning you need to make a good decision.

Lots of various answers here, but none of them are very accurate… The same people that created the federal reserve system the wealthiest people on earth 100 years ago also created the modern education system. They intentionally left out financial education. They wanted people that made good soldiers didn’t question authority didn’t rock societies boat, and would work in a factory. That’s why to this day school still have bells just like a factory. This ruling elite from that era made their money in the financial system. They wanted to stay in power in in order to do that everybody has to financially illiterate.
Nobody owes you anything. You get paid based on your merit. If you’re not making enough money, you need to increase your merit. Learn a trade or go back to college and major in something useful. Work the job you’re at; take advantage of every opportunity for advancement take on as much responsibility as possible. You have to earn your living. It’s lazy to assume anything is owed to you.
Here’s yet another socialist, turning to X to try to make their economic points. Like every other socialist argument on X this is highly reductionist. Billionaires became billionaires by solving society’s problems, which is what creates wealth. The bigger the problem, the more wealth. Along the way, their companies pay billions of dollars in taxes employ countless people, who intern pay billions and billions more. Capitalism is what made America what it is and it is great. We can all participate in it. You can buy their stock and own the means of production.
Serious answer: In order to end world poverty, to start, you’d have invade every Third World country, declaring war and depose their leadership. Then you have to abolish slavery, sex slavery, drugs, drug trafficking, corruption, You then have to force a new culture on those people. Western culture. Successful culture. As it turns out not all cultures foster good outcomes. You’d also have to force new agricultural systems to properly feed everyone, then force first world education on everyone. After you did all this as a military dictatorship of course, there’s no guarantee that it’ll even work. And you expect billionaires to do it? I think you don’t understand the world.
@toddstarnes@zerohedge The forest was shrinking, but the trees kept voting for the axe, for the axe was clever and convinced the trees that because his handle was made of wood he was one of them.
