@almond_sama@TheBoneapple@Patrick_Jaey@WahidNasimLY10@Demon_Hakuba That’s what I’m saying. And I’m not even against the idea of Yamato being trans, it’s just at the time being that is not the case for her.
She is treated very differently from someone like Kiku whom I think is a good trans character.
@TheBoneapple@almond_sama@Patrick_Jaey@WahidNasimLY10@Demon_Hakuba That’s something completely different. On the topic of character designs, donut lipped characters are 100% in poor taste. Thats a criticism of the story I agree with.
Imo the only two characters that are salvageable are M1 and Kuzan, but I’ve heard Kuzan ain’t even black so idk
@TheBoneapple@almond_sama@Patrick_Jaey@WahidNasimLY10@Demon_Hakuba The only ones made for shock value were on Kamabakka island. This is evident when they showed up again at timeskip. All the people in impel down as well as Kiku weren’t treated this way. Yea Oda isnt great at writing trans rep, but fact of the matter is he has other good examples
@TheBoneapple@almond_sama@Patrick_Jaey@WahidNasimLY10@Demon_Hakuba No need to say “I’m full of shit” u can relax it’s just a conversation 🙏. Knowing one piece builds and character designs it is not out of the realm of possibility for characters to be used as gags via appearance. The line is evident when you have a good character like Kiku
@TheBoneapple@almond_sama@Patrick_Jaey@WahidNasimLY10@Demon_Hakuba Yo I wasn’t even talking about them 😭. The people you see in level 5.5 eventually moved to Kamabakka kingdom too. This isn’t a case of cherry picking but you know as well as I do that those seen with Sanji were used as a pure shock value gag. Look at anyone else and say the same
@TheBoneapple@almond_sama@Patrick_Jaey@WahidNasimLY10@Demon_Hakuba Nah cuz Oda HAS actual trans characters in the story. A whole Island and Level in impel down dedicated to so. There are great examples of trans characters in the story like Kiku, but Yamato was written completely different from the rest. They just want to be Oden
@lowkeylifebleh Men set it up. It’s still an issue.
Someone is drowning in a pool but if we focus on who built the pool, we are essentially getting legitimately nowhere as the person is still gurgling water like there’s no tomorrow. Hence why you cannot invalidate the initial statement at hand
