Saj Hussain was elected as Chair of Surrey County Council at today's Full Council meeting. Saj takes over from Helyn Clack with Tim Hall elected as Vice-Chair.
75th Anniversary of Salerno – A presentation of the battle was given on Saturday at Farnham Army Reserve Centre by Lt Col (Retd) Peter Swanson who served for 35 years in both the Queen’s Regiment and the PWRR
HRH The Duke of Gloucester arriving to @TheGrangeCentre for People with Disabilities – This Surrey centre provides much needed support to people with disabilities, helping them to live their lives independently.
The exhibition will include the wedding dress designed by British designer Clare Waight Keller and veil, embroidered with the flora of the 53 countries of the Commonwealth, along with the diamond and platinum bandeau tiara, lent to The Duchess of Sussex by The Queen.
The wedding outfits of The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will go on display at Windsor Castle in 2018 and the Palace of Holyroodhouse in Edinburgh in 2019 in a special @RCT exhibition “A #RoyalWedding: The Duke and Duchess of Sussex”: https://t.co/j1N3WZFD50
This 1553 letter, signed Jane the Quene, was written during the nine-day reign of Lady Jane Grey. It's among treasures at Surrey History Centre which feature in a booklet celebrating @SurreyHeritage turning 70. The charity-sponsored booklets are free at the history centre
