Luke here believes that people who don’t believe in an invisible magician in the sky who judges our every action and may possibly condemn us to eternal torture are retarded.
I don’t want PIP - I want my health.
And if I had the choice between my health and a benefit payment, I’d choose my health every single time. But I can't.
The hardest part of being disabled is dealing with ableists who think you’d choose this life and conveniently forgetting what we have to go through every day.
PIP isn’t some luxury, people. It’s survival.
@henri_mourant They do have personhood that is not limited to humans they can see it in their pets but to admit it would be to accept that the animals they eat are no different from their pets. Everyday I'm so glad to not have that on my conscience
If you are disabled, you absolutely should be allowed:
🔹 treats
🔹 coffee
🔹 sweets
🔹 junk food
🔹takeaways
🔹shopping for yourself
🔹 holidays and days out
🔹 anything that brings you peace, joy and contentment
It’s not the Victorian era - we’re not shut away in workhouses and we shouldn’t be expected live off dust.
I can’t afford holidays but I don’t resent other people having them.
@baselessassert She'll be the first to turn into an animal rights activist as soon as she hears about a dog or cat being abused yknow the ones that have any worth according to them
The ableists who clutch their pearls the second a disabled person buys a coffee, a sweet, a takeaway, a Netflix sub - as if we’re meant to sit in a dark room eating dust while they allow themselves the same treats.
When they want comfort, it’s normal. When we want comfort, it’s evidence we “don’t really need support.”
Newsflash: disabled people are allowed joy. We’re allowed sugar, caffeine, hobbies, streaming services, holidays, clothes that make us feel human, and tiny luxuries that make surviving a hostile world even slightly softer.
We’re not props in your austerity fantasy.
If you think disabled people should be grateful for scraps while you live an ordinary life full of ordinary pleasures, you’re the problem. Not our coffee. Not our treats. Not our existence.
We deserve the same comforts you take for granted. End of.
@benn_elisbenn@Carlynotcarley It's absolutely stupid they give us grief for being on benefits and treat us like it's a moral failing but would never ever be willingly to swap lives with us
@horsemanside @Carlynotcarley You pay £309 a month cars are not that expensive to fix that £309 wouldn't cover servicing and insurance even expensive ones. Besides they are brand new cars so way less likely to be breaking
Can tell the government thinks people on benefits who have mental health disorders are naughty children who need good old behavioural therapy - they see us as inconvenience and a nuisance. They think we will go away if they take our money away
