I’ve proudly stood shoulder to shoulder with 2SLGBTQIA+ communities for decades. From the earliest Pride parades, through the AIDS crisis, winning same-sex marriage, and much more. I continue to stand with you today in the face of hate.
Artscape has been vital community and public infrastructure. This news is heart-breaking. We need more community that builds connections not less, we need more artists to have a place to tell Toronto’s marvelous stories. ☹️
Don’t totally know what this means to its many arts, culture and community tenants, but definitely not good news that Artscape is being placed into receivership and will need to wind-down management of its spaces. Ugh.

I'm thrilled to support this initiative along with @JohnTory, @BradMBradford & @cllrainslie, to transform a City-owned building on Queen West to host It's OK* and create a welcoming space for diverse artists and musicians. https://t.co/NGgf7fNxWe

#ArtsDayTO today! The arts make a huge difference to the livability of this City. Toronto residents understand this. Toronto is a wonderful city, but a very expensive one to create, exhibit and perform in.
We are overcome with grief at the death of Martha Henry, just 12 days after her final performance in Three Tall Women.
“In losing Martha Henry we have lost the dearest friend, the most inspiring mentor and an unforgettable, original talent" - Artistic Director Antoni Cimolino.
