Microsoft just pseudo acquired OpenAI with Sam Altman on board. They invested $10 Billion, valuation grew by $50 Billion after Sam Altman joined. Satya Nadella just made OpenAI pay for its own acquisition

Announcing Grok!
Grok is an AI modeled after the Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, so intended to answer almost anything and, far harder, even suggest what questions to ask!
Grok is designed to answer questions with a bit of wit and has a rebellious streak, so please don’t use it if you hate humor!
A unique and fundamental advantage of Grok is that it has real-time knowledge of the world via the 𝕏 platform. It will also answer spicy questions that are rejected by most other AI systems.
Grok is still a very early beta product – the best we could do with 2 months of training – so expect it to improve rapidly with each passing week with your help.
Thank you,
the xAI Team

@itylergarrett Here is the LLaVA github page

Too bad it uses llama under the hood, cos that makes it nom commercial. But still lots of fun
Huggingface too has a bunch of LLaVA implementations you can check out
Check out LLaVA-1.5, the open-source alternative to OpenAI's GPT-4(Vision), for remarkable multimodal abilities without the $20 monthly subscription.
Successfully deployed here on a AWS EC2 instance and served through a user-friendly Gradio Web Server, LLaVA-1.5 is perfect for Visual Question and Answering tasks.
Watch the video below to see the impressive results!

Coding, much like music, can be truly cathartic. It helps us escape debilitating thoughts, immersing us in a single piece of code that becomes our refuge. 💻🎶

@ClementDelangue Another point about APIs that are not audited is the possibility of data collected without attribution. Which is why it's always better to host your own models and build your own APIs. Of course depends on how sensitive your data is
Could we stop comparing raw models (llama, stable diffusion,...) with APIs (gpt4, claude,...). Most APIs probably include a lot of engineering tricks and even several models under the hood chained or MOEd together so these are not the same things at all and can't be compared.
Have you heard of AutoGPT ? Imagine a bot that writes code, writes test cases for the code, then fixes code that fails the test cases. And then write more test cases. Best of all, it is also capable of using DALL-E
