Important for public information!
I would like to update that the third paper on cow research, funded using India's public money under the SUTRA-PIC (Scientific Utilization through Research Augmentation - Prime Products from Indigenous Cows program) has undergone exhaustive post-publication peer review.
The paper was published in Biochemical Engineering Journal this year. The authors are from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Dhanbad (Jharkhand).
This is the paper:
https://t.co/9niHoCSvEO This study was done in Jharkhand and the total amount of public money given was INR 36,16,859/- (~38500 USD).
As per the study, the researchers transformed ordinary cow dung into a specialized carbon material that highly effectively soaks up toxic chromium pollution from water. Instead of throwing away this metal-filled waste, they successfully reused it to build a working, long-lasting energy storage device called a supercapacitor.
Well, they did not. They made it all up.
Here is a plain-language summary of the fatal flaws found in the paper:
🟡The authors claim their material successfully absorbed a massive amount of toxic chromium—roughly 22% of its total weight. However, their own chemical scan shows the final product contains almost zero chromium (0.09%), making their main conclusion physically impossible.
🟡After testing this material in a battery setup that contains absolutely zero chromium, the reported amount of chromium inside the material mysteriously multiplied by 47 times (from 0.09% to 4.24%). Elements cannot spontaneously generate out of thin air, which strongly indicates the data was fabricated.
🟡The fundamental thermodynamic math used to prove how the material captures pollutants is entirely broken. The reported numbers for energy, heat, and entropy literally do not equal each other when plugged into standard physics equations, heavily suggesting the results were manually made up.
🟡The paper claims hard statistical proof that one type of cow dung is superior to another, but the actual difference between them is a fraction of a percent and mathematically insignificant. Furthermore, the statistical "p-values" they reported are mathematically incorrect for the tests they claim to have run.
And one more point which requires professional image manipulation software for checking - which me or the helping team did not have access to)...
🟡The photos intended to show the physical "coated" battery electrodes appear to be digitally faked. The frayed edges and tape cuts match the uncoated metal so perfectly that it looks like solid black boxes were simply photoshopped over the original image (this is only a basic allegation, needs confirmation).
With this review, I am stopping further such analysis on these so-called cow-research science papers glorifying Indian tradition. These "researchers" and "scientists" should be ashamed of themselves. Real science requires truthful validation, not beggarly applause or promotions from the hands of the "agenda-driven" masters that feed you.
All three papers criticisms have been uploaded to Pub-Peer and official notifications sent to the respective journals and their research integrity teams. Two papers are already under investigation by respective journal.

The science community in India must fight tooth and nail to prevent AYUSH pseudoscience infiltration into their revered STEM institutions. This is not a good thing, moving forward.
India’s IT ministry banned Telegram for one week because some users shared leaked exam questions.
This punishes 150M+ ordinary Telegram users in India — not the insiders who leaked the exam materials.
And the ban hasn't stopped anything. The leaks just moved to other apps.
A note to journalists around the world:
If the PM of India visits your country, please ask him questions, because in India he has not faced a press conference for the last 12 years.
For the sake of the journalistic community, please do us this favor.
RT for good karma.
We will vote BJP, but we don’t want anything for ourselves- just do this:
-Give cylinders to Hindus at ₹500.
-Provide petrol/diesel to Hindus at ₹50.
Chacha Single handedly destroyed entire BJP ecosystem💥
The Spanish Government just released their exhaustive evaluation into Homeopathy as a medical practice in Spain. They concluded that Homeopathy is a scam and is going to phase it out of the country in due course.
Meanwhile Indian Government, led by Narendra Modi's BJP has announced 3 years super specialist course for Homeopathy practitioners to become Homeopathic- Endocrinologist, Rheumatologist or Oncologist etc.
This is what happens when unpad log (freeloaders who are not formally educated) are kept in positions of power. Nation goes to hell.
VERY IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT.
Dear friends, we have published the largest analytical study of Ayurveda, Homeopathy, Siddha, Unani and Folk-Traditional Medicinal products that have harmed patients - presenting with liver damage - to our department. This is the most exhaustive analytical study that correlated clinical outcomes in such patients.
Interestingly, one of the Reviewers who peer-reviewed our paper (notification after paper publication) and cleared it for publication is a senior professor of Ayurveda (Rasashastra and Bhaishajya Kalpana) at All India Institute of Ayurveda. This makes our paper even more impactful.
Here is a plain language summary of the study's major findings, highlighting what patients and the public need to know about the safety of alternative medicines:
Severe Liver Damage is a Major Risk: The study looked at 386 alternative and complementary medicines taken by patients who experienced liver damage. It found that these products frequently triggered a severe, life-threatening form of liver failure, called Acute-on-chronic liver failure (or ACLF) which resulted in death for nearly 40% of the patients who developed it.
Unlabeled Products Can Be Deadly: Taking "unlabeled" products—those sold without proper ingredient lists, manufacturer details, or batch numbers—was a strong predictor of death. The risk of dying increased the more unlabeled products a patient consumed, showing how dangerous an unregulated supply chain can be. Data revealed a dose-response relationship where death rates escalated progressively, reaching 42.9% among patients who consumed three or more unlabeled products.
Dangerous Levels of Heavy Metals: A shocking number of the tested products were heavily contaminated with toxic metals like mercury, lead, arsenic, and cadmium, often at levels far above safety limits. Exposure to cadmium, in particular, was strongly linked to patients developing the most severe form of liver failure. Exposure to cadmium was strongly and significantly associated with the development of ACLF (75.9% in exposed versus 22.6% in unexposed patients).
Hidden Prescription Drugs: Almost one-third of the products secretly contained modern pharmaceutical drugs, meaning patients were taking them without knowing. These hidden drugs included steroids, antibiotics, and painkillers, and some were even banned or well-known to cause liver damage.
"Natural" Doesn't Always Mean Safe: Over 40% of the products contained plant ingredients that are medically documented to be toxic to the liver. Well-known herbs like Giloy (Tinospora cordifolia) and Ashwagandha were among the most common potentially harmful plants found in the products.
Secret Animal Ingredients: Testing revealed that nearly a third of the products contained undisclosed animal ingredients (such as dairy, marine products, or animal extracts). This is a major concern for vegans, vegetarians, and people with religious dietary restrictions who believe they are taking plant-based medicines.
Risks from Concentrated Plant Extracts: The study discovered that high concentrations of certain common plant fats and compounds (called phytosterols) were tied to higher rates of severe liver failure. This shows that highly concentrated "natural" extracts can act differently in the body and become harmful, even if they come from everyday plants.

I hope that the Hon Prime Minister @narendramodi ji mentions the genocide of thousands of innocent men, women and children in Gaza while addressing the Knesset on his upcoming trip to Israel and demands justice for them. India has stood for what is right throughout our history as an independent nation, we must continue to show the light of truth, peace and justice to the world.
Hello Tuluva Techie with zero critical thinking skills.
This is a frequently cited statistic that often gets misinterpreted as "Kerala has the worst cancer problem." It is not like that.
Yours and that useless man Rajeev's (who calls himself an Oncologist in the reel), ignorance is known as Simpson's Paradox Analogy. Let me explain.
Kerala has the most mature and extensive population-based cancer registries in India, operating for decades. States with poor registry coverage (UP, Bihar, many northeastern states) massively undercount cases. You cannot report what you do not detect. High incidence on paper often reflects better surveillance, not necessarily a worse disease burden.
Kerala's life expectancy (~75–77 years) is the highest in India, approaching that of developed nations. Cancer is fundamentally an age-related disease - the longer people live, the more time cells have to accumulate mutations. States where people die younger from infections, maternal mortality, or malnutrition never "survive long enough" to develop cancer.
Kerala has largely conquered the infectious disease burden that dominates mortality elsewhere in India. When you eliminate deaths from diarrhea, tuberculosis, and neonatal causes, the proportion of cancer in the disease landscape naturally rises. This is actually a marker of development, not failure.
Kerala has near-universal literacy (~96%), especially female literacy, which strongly correlates with health-seeking behavior. People present to hospitals earlier, get screened, and receive formal diagnoses. In states with poor access, cancers go undiagnosed, patients die at home labeled as "fever" or "abdominal illness," and never enter any registry.
What is Simpson's Paradox?
This is similar to the observation that hospitals with better ICUs report higher death rates - not because they kill patients, but because they receive sicker patients and actually count deaths properly. Kerala "looks bad" partly because it has the institutional capacity to look honestly.
This is a classic lesson in epidemiology: incidence is a function of both disease occurrence AND detection capacity. You must always account for the denominator and the measurement system before drawing causal conclusions.
Also, there is ZERO evidence to equate unprocessed red meat to cancer causation. Please dont send me useless data from WHO and other crap sources - none of them show causation of unprocessed red meat use and cancer. The associated RISK (again there is no causation proven) is from processed/ultraprocessed meats. The most common reason for increased cancer is tobacco, alcohol, obesity. So use your account to help people in controlling these well known risks, instead of trying to play "food jihad" ok? Let people from different States and Cultures enjoy their culinary delights. You can mind your own business.
So next time you visit Kerala with your friend Dr. Rajeev, enjoy some beef and porotta. Serving good food to hosts has always been our happiness mantra.
We are witnessing a betrayal of India’s farmers in the name of a US trade deal.
I want to ask the Prime Minister some simple questions:
1.What does importing DDG really mean? Does it mean Indian cattle will be fed distillers grain derived from GM American corn? Won’t that effectively integrate our dairy chain with the US agricultural system?
2.If we allow imports of GM soya oil, what happens to our soya farmers in Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Rajasthan and across the country? How will they survive another price shock?
3.When you say “additional products,” what does that include? Does it signal pressure to open up pulses and other sensitive crops to US imports over time?
4.What does removing “non-trade barriers” mean? Will India be pushed to dilute its stand on GM crops, weaken procurement, or undermine MSP and bonuses in the future?
5.Once this door opens, how do we prevent it from widening every year? Will there be safeguards, or will more crops steadily be put on the table in each negotiation round?
Farmers deserve clarity.
This is not just about today. It is about whether we are giving another country a long-term grip on India’s agricultural system.
#FarmersFirst 🇮🇳
I am not excited about this #INDvPAK match for the first time, it has been hijacked by money and politics - Harsha Bhogle
Finally, someone had the courage to speak up. 🔥
Drop everything you are doing and watch and share this "zabardast" original documentary on Ayush and Ayurveda in India.
https://t.co/CJW7ZItQyJ
Featuring the narration by Ravish Kumar
And on-ground report by Basant Kumar
#MustWatch
Basant met me at my workplace in Kochi and we had a very long talk and recording session (in Hindi!) on my experiences with treating and publishing on the largest numbers of cases of Ayush-liver injury in the country at our referral center. I wish I could have given him more time, but clinical work was damning at the time. But I am happy how this turned out.
He has also interviewed my patients (and many such patients across India), especially my young-girl patient who turned out to have severe alcohol-related liver injury and arsenic poisoning from Ayurvedic treatment for seizure disorder (that segment will make your feel really sad). #MustSee
It is the most important video you will watch this year and please share it maximum. This is a huge effort from Basant and the NL team, and I am proud to be part of this.
PS: Ayurveda practitioners feature time and again in the video. That's your loo break or comic relief - whichever way you want to see it. Listen to their incompetence and ignorance. And the Govt. is hell bent on creating more such incompetent fools.
This is a must read.
A study in the New England Journal of Medicine showed that simply following evidence-based guidelines reduced Vitamin D testing by 25.3% and saved nearly $112,000 (!!!)
Vitamin D is one of the most "abused" test-and-treat practices in medicine.
Low vitamin D levels are linked to a large number of diseases, but supplementing vitamin D rarely fix them. In fact, all the studies on vitamin D has been mostly neutral and largely negative.
Correlation ≠ causation. Low Vitamin D is often a marker of poor health, not the driver of diseases.
High Vitamin D levels often reflect a healthy lifestyle (outdoor activity, better diet, fitness). The benefit comes from the lifestyle, not just the vitamin level.
When in large high quality trials (like VITAL or D2d) researchers gave vitamin D supplements to general populations, it failed to prevent cancer, heart disease, or diabetes.
Sickness causes low Vitamin D, not the other way around. This thelogic of reverse causality.
Vitamin D as a disease marker is like the Fire-Fighter logic. Firefighters are always found at the site of fires, but they don't cause them. Similarly, low Vitamin D is often a responder to bodily stress. Pumping up the levels artificially is like sending more firefighters. It doesn't necessarily mean they will put out the fire.
"Vitamin D is associated with disease" is a story about risk markers. "Supplements prevent disease" is a claim that science mostly doesn't support. This is why fixing the number on the lab report (especially a low vitamin D) with a pill doesn't always translate to fixing the patient's health.
Supplement Vitamin D only in these situations (as per guidelines). For the rest, stop wasting people's money on testing and vitamin D supplementation.
[1] Children and adolescents (1–18 years) to prevent nutritional rickets and potentially reduce respiratory infections.
[2] For adults with high-risk prediabetes, the guidelines suggest empiric Vitamin D supplementation. Studies (like the D2d trial analyses) suggest this may help reduce the progression from prediabetes to Type 2 diabetes.
[3] In pregnant women, to lower the risk of pre-eclampsia (high blood pressure risk), intrauterine mortality (death of fetus in uterus), and preterm birth.
[4] Only in older adults (75+ years) - to potentially lower mortality risk.
That fatigue you feel. That hair loss you developed. That skin colour change you see. That poor sleep you experienced. That muscle pain you have and that non-specific joint discomfort you feel every week - guess what? Those are not because of a low vitamin D. Some actually develop these symptoms AFTER testing for vitamin D and finding it to be low.
Stop listening to useless influencers, science illiterate nutritionists and dietitians and overconfident gym bros on social media.
Dear friends, I have something important to tell you.
In December 2024, 'researchers' from multiple Indian Government Homeopathy institutions along with 'researchers' from Israeli Homeopathy institutes, published a randomized controlled trial that concluded that use of Homeopathic formulations in children during first 24 months of life reduced infections and antibiotics use compared to 'standard of care.' This was published in the prestigious European Journal of Pediatrics.
The study was viral. It was all over the media and news here in South India and also in some National media and was Whatsapp 'proof' of Homeopathy being better than modern medicine in infants. The study was used to promote anti-vaccine sentiments and Homeopathy products in South India. Homeopaths hailed the study as 'path breaking' - also because the Ayush Ministry and Government Homeopathy practitioners were study authors involved in it.
I read the study. I am trained in advanced statistics and research writing.
The study was utter nonsense. And fraud. It looked like the authors did not even actually perform the study. I really doubted whether any patients were involved at all.
I wrote a letter to the editor of the journal, asking him to kindly review the paper and investigate 'scientific integrity' and ethics.
And after nearly 10 months of investigations by the Journal, Publisher and Research Integrity Team, we were proven correct.
The paper was fraud and now it has been RETRACTED. @RetractionWatch
The lesson here is that, if people really did understand what Homeopathy is and what its practitioners are, it is easy to find that it is clearly fraud. There is nothing in Homeopathy that works. It is unscientific utter nonsense. Every positive study on Homeopathy is mostly published in 'Homeopathy' journals. Sometimes, it infiltrates a real, valid journal (like in this case) and then it gets retracted because the scientific community is always alert.
There are many such instances: See - https://t.co/JHC3anPss3 and https://t.co/iDRNha2Yw5 and https://t.co/84S02zuxv3
The worst part here is that all these Homeopathy practitioners who are authors of the study are working in Indian Govt. public health sector - meaning, their salary is paid from public funds and citizens taxes. These wastrels are eating away our hard earned money and using it to fund fraud. Who will stop these criminals?
Even worse, the fraud, now retracted study was published as 'open access' in the European Journal of Pediatrics - which means, the authors paid £3090.00 GBP or $4990 USD, or €3990 EUR equivalent in INR to publish fraud. Where did they get this money from? Yes. Indian public tax money.
Homeopathy needs to be booted out of this country. Parents, do not send your children to study Homeopathy even though India offers a 5 year course and gives them a "Dr." title at the end of it. They are not doctors. They are legitimized frauds and legalized quacks, as you can see from this retraction.
"Homeopathy is a lively relic of the prescientific era. Not healthcare."

I was born in 1961 too.
And this version of the past is a myth.
Kids did have food allergies we just didn’t have the science to name them.
I lost a brother before he was two because medicine didn’t yet understand what allergy killed him.
Trans kids didn’t “not exist.”
They hid. They were shamed. Many never survived adolescence.
Violence didn’t start with social media.
Bullying, racism, misogyny, and abuse were simply normalized and ignored.
Families didn’t stay together because things were better
they stayed together because women and children had fewer choices.
And no, it wasn’t just “Merry Christmas.”
We said Happy Holidays. Season’s Greetings. Yuletide.
Nobody lost their mind. Nobody felt threatened. We just… lived.
I rode buses and subways too
they weren’t magically safer.
We just didn’t talk about what happened on them.
What really changed wasn’t people.
It was visibility.
Data replaced denial.
Voices replaced silence.
And accountability replaced nostalgia.
The past wasn’t safer.
It was quieter because suffering had nowhere to go.
I don’t want a time machine.
I want a future where we stop confusing silence with peace.
Stop being such a boomer.
