We need literacy leaders who when confronted with their student's reading failures and lack of progress feel an outrage so holy that they become willing to change anything and everything ...to learn and unlearn anything and become single-minded in their purpose. Parents too.
Independent reading leads to an increased volume of reading. The more one reads, the better one reads. The more one reads, the more knowledge of words and language one acquires. The more one reads, the more fluent one becomes as a reader. https://t.co/4SAt4Lku9Q
Steve Jobs on the importance of SIMPLE... “Simple can be harder than complex: You have to work hard to get your thinking clean to make it simple. But it’s worth it in the end because once you get there, you can move mountains.”
Our parents want to know, "Where can we buy Base 10 Blocks?!" We're roaring about our Coffee Talk with second and third grade parents this morning! Thanks @tatjana_heintz, @GPattie, @Lionsgifted, @sbaumga4, and @beach_teach_VB! @VBTitleI@VBMathRocks
Leaders are heart listeners and those that empower all - not just some. The most fragile need to know we care, students and adults. We all take turns and have “strong” days and “fragile” days. Lead sincerely and from the heart and you will never go wrong - for anyone.
