Calling for a halal/non-stun slaughter ban in Parliament has certainly resulted in some less than pleasant feedback.

Let me be clear here - I do not care.

It’s barbaric. It’s cruel. It’s un-British.

All non-stun slaughter should be banned.

I have tabled a motion in Parliament on banning non-stun slaughter, particularly halal - also urging the introduction of mandatory, clear labelling of meat products by method of slaughter.

In Britain, we treat our animals humanely.

If MPs agree, they must sign this motion.
