@SusanHowson speaks truth to the logic of library books’ supply and demand of translated works of fiction. Especially important, off the back of the 2024 International Booker Prize pick of German writer Jenny Erpenbeck’s Kairos. #thisweekthosebooks https://t.co/qORP04hppI
Today is my last day at @qz after nearly 7 years and 4 trillion Daily Briefs, 3 million Obsession emails, various pop-ups, (some sharp reader will write me a correction on those numbers), and meeting and learning from so many colleagues who are now close friends.
@ScottNover It was a real book recommendation and I am going to reread it because of it! Also you should watch the movie and marvel at its copout ending! 🌝 river
@DollarCars I picked up my car, was told it was an EV, which I would not have been able to charge. Nowhere on my reservation did it say anything about an EV. Only other cars left were an upgrade which I had to pay for. Feels like a trick and I want a refund!
@vcuRamRamRam Hey! That’s my hand! I took that pic! Honestly my hands aren’t even that little for a woman. I play piano and got them long fingers! He was nice about me writing that piece when I clearly knew nothing about basketball though.
The latest EELS brings you three books and a documentary about intense creative partnerships, and one of those things isn't not about the Beatles. Also: help edit my book stack!

This week, EELS explores the Gone Literary Universe, which I made up simply because there are three books I loved that start with “Gone.” Sci-fi! Murder! Mimes! And a bonus rec from @jabufu

The World’s Fair was all about exhibition: not only architectural feats and big ideas, but also the technologies that promised to change our lives. That’s where our new season of the Quartz Obsession starts. Join me and @qz’s @cassiewerber for episode 1: https://t.co/MoA052yR9S
This week's EELS delivers three retellings of classics, plus a bonus recommendation by @sangeetaskurtz. We've got mountains, we've got English seasides, we've got Brooklyn! Take a read! https://t.co/9nrdlPzG7O
