@kate_mckean Good Bones is a fave, I like the mother-daughter team. They live locally and price sensibly. But I don't know how locals feel about their saving old houses in Indianapolis.
You look at the polls and think "he can't win." But Trump's path to victory doesn't depend on persuading Americans. It depends on voter suppression, mass disinformation, foreign interference, and unabashed use of executive branch power to shape events, and perceptions, this fall.
I wrote this tiny thing a couple months ago on what keeps me motivated, in case this speaks to anybody who's working hard to keep writing. With many thanks to stellar editor @JessKashiwabara at @poetswritersinc

Watching Trump preen in front of St. John’s, moments after he threatened to deploy the American military against the American people, with a bible held above his head, I remembered this quote, “when facism comes to America it will be wrapped in the flag and carrying a cross”
I wrote out some thoughts on how to make this moment a real turning point to bring about real change––and pulled together some resources to help young activists sustain the momentum by channeling their energy into concrete action. https://t.co/jEczrOeFdv
@kate_mckean I loved the movie! I went to Roslyn High for 8th and 9th grade, grew up in the house my father lived in all his life, the family lived in Roslyn from 1902 to 1997. The surroundings didn't look like Roslyn or even LI to me, but I missed the beginning, will try to catch it again.
The truth is: this isn’t just “staying home and watching Netflix”.
It’s abandonment wounds. It’s attachment issues. It’s relational conflict. It’s touch starvation. It’s existential dread. It’s overwhelm of grief. It’s lack of purpose. It’s crippling anxiety. It’s fear of death.
@TobyBallNH@CrimeWritersOn Wonderful podcast, @TobyBallNH, Ted agrees, your opening about you and others in 2014 inspired me to applaud! And you so deftly introduce the Hills and let us hear their words, I can't imagine a listener who's not on the edge of their seat anticipating next week! Bravo!💟
