Last weekend, we unveiled the presidential portrait that will remain at Wake Forest long after my time here. Seeing it for the first time alongside so many friends and colleagues was both surreal and deeply meaningful.

I’m grateful to artist Jie Ruan for his extraordinary talent and partnership throughout this process and to everyone who helped bring this portrait to life.

Reflecting on what this portrait should represent about my time at Wake Forest was one of the most meaningful parts of the experience. I’m honored to now have it become part of Wake Forest’s history.
