While ordinary Scots are told public services are stretched, a refugee NGO in Glasgow has been able to draw support from government, banks, major brands, law firms, foundations and football-linked charities

We went back through a decade of Scottish Refugee Council reports and accounts.

And this is MUCH bigger than a few corporate donors.

LOTTERY MONEY
The National Lottery Community Fund National Lottery Heritage Fund and previously the Big Lottery Fund.
The Lottery also partnered with SRC on the Reaching New Scots Fund, with £1.5 MILLION raised by National Lottery players for grassroots refugee-integration organisations across Scotland.

In 2024/25 alone, SRC's accounts recorded around £5.66 MILLION from Scottish Government-funded programmes, dominated by the Refugee Support Service and Guardianship Scotland.

And that was BEFORE the new £8 MILLION Refugee Support Service contract began in October 2025.

All flowing into or supporting the same Glasgow-based organisation that also sits alongside the Scottish Government and COSLA as a formal partner in Scotland's New Scots refugee-integration strategy.

This is not a small grassroots charity.

It is a major institution inside Scotland's refugee and asylum infrastructure.
