An intriguing photo.
The Prime Minister of Barbados @miaamormottley accepting an award for 'public service' from controversial doctor @DrSparman back in 2011 (before she was PM).
Our full report on Alfred Sparman is here:

This is the harrowing story of the tragic and avoidable death of my father at the hands of a 'Doctor' in Barbados that had been struck off the medical register in the United States...
EXCL: This doctor has twice been struck off in the US for hiding the fact he is a sex offender.
Yet Alfred Sparman now runs a clinic in Barbados, carries out heart surgery and is at the centre of an international row over his treatment of a British holidaymaker who later died.
Alfred Sparman has yet to respond to our repeated requests for comment. But he previously told a Barbados newspaper: the allegations are ‘untrue’ and ‘appear emotional, vague and unjust’.
Gordon Spencer’s family are now campaigning for Dr Sparman’s medical licence to be revoked.
Gordon Spencer never regained consciousness. And 13 days after being admitted to the Leeds General Infirmary, his family agreed his life support should be stopped.
His treatment at the Sparman Clinic in Barbados cost £91,000.
When daughter Susan Shelbrooke asked another doctor in the practice what the family should do, she says she was told: ‘get him out of here, as soon as possible’. They did - back to a hospital in Leeds.
@AlecShelbrooke describes how doctors in the UK reacted when they arrived:
Gordon Spencer’s family (incl daughter Susan & son-in-law @AlecShelbrooke) are also furious at the treatment received:
🔹Mr Spencer’s hands were tied to his bed.
🔹He wasn’t moved for 4 days and developed bedsores.
🔹His family also say his eyes were sellotaped shut.
Gordon Spencer fell ill with pneumonia (a lung infection) on a cruise. At Sparman Clinic he underwent 2 heart operations:
🔹During the first operation Mr Spencer had a heart attack.
🔹For the second operation Dr Sparman turned up 2 hours late: he’d been presenting a radio show.
NEW: Downing Street confirm @BorisJohnson will start living in No 10 today. He will stay in the larger flat above No 11.
His partner Carrie Symonds will live there too.
At 11:30pm last night I took part in the Brexit debate in the House of Commons. The debate ran into the early hours and is still on going today. https://t.co/7q4RgnR1h7
Our deal delivers on the referendum with:
🔵 Control of our borders by ending free movement.
🔵 Control of our money so we can spend it on our priorities like the NHS.
🔵 Control of our laws by ending the jurisdiction of the ECJ, coming out of the CAP and CFP.

Actually an incredible performance from May. Probably won’t change the fundamentals. But demonstrated she has more dignity, courage and resilience than most of her critics put together.
