It was such an honor to be on this panel at the Magnes Collection's Jewish Arts & Bookfest earlier this month! #JABF26: Mining History and Ourselves: Creating the Jewish Story https://t.co/UntYEvRbTj via @YouTube
Happy Jewish American Heritage Month!
To honor this month-long celebration of Jewish history and culture, I’m reading aloud the beautiful picture book WHAT ROSA BROUGHT, written by @jacobsw and illustrated by @WheelerStudio . It tells a heartfelt, tender story through a child’s eyes of what it was like to be Jewish and living in Vienna, Austria, when the Nazis took control of the country in 1938.
Based on the author’s mother’s childhood, WHAT ROSA BROUGHT is the story about family, identity, immigration, and the power of love. With thoughtful language that captures the emotions of a young Jewish girl and her family during a frightening and uncertain time, along with stunning illustrations, it offers a meaningful glimpse into a tragic period in history.
A powerful story to share during Jewish Heritage Month and all year long.

@MegKeene@YoniFreedhoff This is classic! None of this would be an issue if people didn’t have this horrible obsession. Think of all the time and stress they would save if they weren’t obsessed!
It was a joy to review this new book by Charlotte Brooks about a Chinese American family that left New York for Shanghai for better opportunities 100 years ago. My review in @BookReviewsAsia
"When We See You Again," by Rachel Goldberg-Polin, mother of a murdered hostage, is number one on the NYT bestseller list. More evidence that, despite what literary agents, mainstream publishers, and indie bookstores say, Jewish and Israeli stories do, in fact, sell. The antizionist blacklist is pure bigotry.
