Amateur photographer, wife, mother & sight impaired social worker, living with stage IV melanoma since 2013. See my wildlife images at Instagram susannah_archer
Aged 26, I became registered blind. Aged 40, I developed stage 4 melanoma. Aged 45, I got a couple of brain tumours. 2 years ago, I picked up a camera and decided to teach myself the basics of wildlife photography. I cannot begin to explain how much it helps my mental health!
@morag_currie I got sick of all the unpleasant ranting on Twitter, with every other person thinking they were an expert at the start of the pandemic! Instagram is nice for sharing photos, without the politics and unkind stuff in between. ๐
Thanks to all of my new followers. I find wildlife photography helps me to manage the mental challenges of a stage four cancer diagnosis. If anyone would like to see more of my wildlife images I can be found on Instagram susannah_archer with this profile photo. ๐
Today, for me, marks 7yrs with advanced incurable cancer. Tomorrow marks 2yrs with brain tumours. I'm also 20yrs on from a stroke! Even when times are tough, never lose hope ๐ฅฐ #melanoma#busylivingwithmets Here's a sweet image I took.

@bobhazell@STWDraycote@Draycotebirding Definitely! I'm living with advanced cancer & something about the calmness & open skies gets me returning again & again. Shetland was our plan for April. Maybe one day! Hopefully Orkney next.
@bobhazell@STWDraycote@Draycotebirding Yes, sadly trips delayed for us too. We sneaked in Skye and Harris in February, just before the crazy times! Have you done many Scottish islands? I think we're up to about twenty now.
