#OTD in 1840, #AnneLister died at Kutaisi, in Georgia. There are many reasons to memorialise her, but I figured I'd just use a Listerism to mark this day:
"If you do do a thing, do it with the best grace possible and deserve all the merit you can" (2 March 1819)
🇫🇷 In July 1830, #AnneLister set off for the south of France with Lady Stuart de Rothesay, but was soon overtaken by revolution.
Her journals capture the chaos, fears for her aunt, and reactions to the ‘Trois Glorieuses.’ Read more via @AnneListerParis!
