Research shows rapid changes in Negombo lagoon's seagrass ecosystems due to salinity, nutrients, & sedimentation, leading to biomass decline. A study from 1998-2004 reveals a 93% decrease in Madabokka at Kadolkele. #NegomboLagoon #SeagrassEcology

Sri Lanka, situated within the Indo-Pacific bioregion, hosts a diverse aquatic ecosystem with 15 recorded species from seven genera.
