Here is some of the behaviour I have witnessed from the wider mostly left-leaning Sonic community:
- Racial slurs against my black peers.
- A prominent figureheard being exposed as an actual pedophile (LunaNova), with their friends still in this community attempting to cover it up.
- Ian Flynn harrassed for trying to defuse shipping arguements and deconfirming Tangle/Whisper being lesbians.
- An IDW staff member having to personally and publicly apologise to Krack after realising they were egging on users who were threatening her, not the other way around.
- Every single woman I've seen distance herself from the left has ended up being called a whore. Some of my female friends who have never been in any drama don't post on here at all anymore because they don't feel comfortable or happy being here.
- False accusations of Doxxing (that some users like Harley have only recently admitted were baseless), only for some accusers to be exposed as ACTUAL doxxers.
- Users who complain about Rouge's censorship, but in the same breath have oddly been getting very angry lately about ABT drawing breasts on female characters; One user in particular (Lien) who has previously confessed to torturing small animals and I can't for the life of my understand how he hasn't been chased off this platform. I guess Vtubers are more important, huh.
- Hacking attempts, one of which has been successful on a POC friend.
- Months-long stalking with some users making HUNDREDS posts about individuals in a matter of weeks. I dont think I have ever seen Captain Daybreak actually talk about SONIC.
- DMs from left-leaning individuals who admit to me they believe much of the community has become far too aggressive and obsessive with politics and drama of individuals, but feel pressured to never be seen "sympathising with the enemy".
- Coordinated efforts from discords to spread misinformation that the wider community happily laps up and spreads if it means "owning the chuds".
So, why am I posting this?
Because Sonictwt has decided this week is the monthly "virtue signal about how much the right doesnt belong here" struggle session.
But I never, EVER see the aforementioned behaviour condemned. Sometimes its even actively encouraged. Strange, isn't it?
Spare me the moral grandstanding.
Yeah, I find some of the right wing lashing out distasteful. But do any of you left wing fans have the balls to admit this didn't just manifest out of nowhere?
I've seen you turn on friends over the most minor disagreements and topics, and let it snowball to the point you now treat them like the damn boogeyman.
Maybe one day people will grow up and we can actually just talk about Sonic in the so-called Sonic community.
Segundo o jornalista @TheInSneider: "Todo mundo acha o filme horrível. É um problema real."
Uma exibição interna teria sido desastrosa, com o streaming exigindo refilmagens.
O custo de produção de quase US$ 300 milhões também teria causado tensões nos bastidores.
What we've learned here is we can't have female Belmonts in canon. It just doesn't work. Try to build a game around a female Belmont, you get a shitty game that contradicts the lore.
Into the garbage it goes.
o novo castlevania é o netflxvania tudo de novo kkkkkkkkkkk claaaro que um estudio ocidental na porra do canada ia respeitar o legado de castlevania kkkkk ainda bem que eu ja esperava kkkkk
One of the most enlightening takes on Malfoid that I've seen so far was a YouTube video I watched today that has since been lost to the aether.
At the end of the video he made the point that this kind of story is extremely culturally important for the right. Not because it's conquering a leftist beloved IP or because it reintroduces beauty and romance to storytelling. Not that those aren't fine things.
No it does something much bigger.
For at least two decades we in the west have been subjected to nothing but deconstructive storytelling. Every expectation and trope is so routinely subverted that we know the story from the start. Its why so much modern media is just...
...boring.
Because God forbid the guy actually get the girl, the bad guy be bad and get his comeuppance, or the ending be at all happy. (Aside: I believe this is responsible for the recent rise in eastern media)
But I digress. What Malfoid actually is, is an inversion of the deconstruction of media. Its taking a broken story and making it whole. It takes a plot that was ok but flawed, and uses traditional story telling to fill in those gaps and create a recognizable pattern that elevates the whole thing.
He doesn't call it this in the video, but I like to think of it as "reconstructive" or "restorative" story telling: the elevation of a story by the inclusion of traditional storytelling methods and tropes so that it speaks to what is true about the human condition.
There was one other example he gave that comes, of all places, from Star Wars. While almost all of modern Star Wars under Kathleen Kennedy was deconstructionist crap, one show stood out: The Mandolorian.
After the debasement of Luke Skywalker in the ironically name Rise of Skywalker, many people were extremely discouraged. Mark Hamill himself said that he didn't agree with anything that his character was doing and he didn't recognize Luke by the end.
In steps Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni, and in the final scene of season 1 of The Mandolorian we get to see Luke Skywalker back in his rightful spot as the Big Damn Hero, doing the Right Thing and Saving The Day. Grown men cried watching that scene; once again seeing their childhood hero back in his rightful roll.
It was reconstructive, restorative even, and why the left went all-out attacking the show.
I know we all lament the idea of Malfoid fading even if we know it's inevitable. What we should do though is learn from it and take those lessons forward to new projects, be they fanfic or entirely new IPs:
- understand that "creative" work is not the domain of the left
- avoid deconstruction at all costs and instead speak to the truth of human nature
- embrace traditional western storytelling
On that last point, I want to remind y'all that not every story is a love story. The western storytelling tradition is rich with different story tropes that each serve a purpose: tragedy (Anakin and Padame in the prequel series), comedy (White Christmas), heroes journey (Dartanian from Three Musketeers), great quest (LoTR), rebirth (Kousko in Emperor's New Groove or the Beast in Beauty and the Beast), rags to riches (Edmond in Count of Monte Cristo).
There's more, but you get the idea. Don't be afraid to retell these stories again and again. They resonate so well because they speak to fundamental elements of the human condition.
Its tempting to wonder what other stories are out there that might be a tweak or two away from greatness, but I wouldn't get hung up on that. You aren't gonna catch lightning in a bottle twice.
Instead I say look forward, using these lessions, and build something great from the ground up, borrowing pieces from the past to build the future.
I’ve failed to see anyone talking about the location issue. The Eagle and Child is in Oxford, ~55 miles outside of London. Digory was living in London during the events of the Magician’s Nephew. So how are they getting to Oxford? You can’t convince me this isn’t deliberate.
Sex is the most intimate thing two people can do. If you can repeatedly share that intimacy with strangers and walk away without a second thought, I don't believe you have capacity for love and bonding. You basically exist as an animal. I have never understood hookups.

Combine this shake-up with the news that Gerwig's Narnia is in reshoots after some failed screenings, and you have to wonder if Meryl Streep is gonna remain the voice of Aslan...
