Great day on Grouse Mountain today for a lucky group of grade 8s from Sutherland, Windsor, Handsworth and West Van Secondary at the Junior Achievement “Success Skills and Mental Well-Being Summit”.
Big kick-off today to our Roll to School Week. Thanks to our community partners and to all participating students. Look for more opportunities later this week to win prizes for rolling to school. Bike, scooter, bus or walk this week as forms of active transport!

Last week, 90 grade 9-12 students from Sutherland Secondary took 2 chartered buses to attend the Skills Canada Provincial Competition at the Abbotsford TradeX center.
Parent Teacher Conferences and Capstone Market were a huge success. Thanks to all our volunteers, performers, presenters, parents and staff who made it out to Sutherland tonight!

Thanks to Charles Lartey from HopeU for coming by on #blackexcellence day to speak with our grade 9s about anti-racism. We are looking forward to having him back to work with our grade 9 social studies classes in the coming weeks.
What a beautiful “Diwali” Celebration & Display at @SutherlandSec 🪔🎉 with lots of delicious food, mehndi, jewelry & Indian dresses & saris🥻for students to wear & take photos! It was an awesome event led by EA Penny Gill, staff, student & parent volunteers! TY for inviting me♥️
My favourite meeting - dinner with the District Student Leadership Committee Exec & Admin and @NVSD44 Board & Senior Exec. We discussed personal digital devices, linear/semester systems & how the new school year is going . We appreciate their feedback as a valued stakeholder! ♥️
