@NEUnion members employed by GDST have accepted an offer made after last week’s Acas talks.
Their strike action has won:
• the right to stay in the Teachers’ Pension Scheme
• no fire and rehire
• enhanced pay offer for all staff

I’ve had a really upsetting few days. This week, I’ve been BANNED from talking about my YA books at a Catholic school. Full story here, but I urge you to read this thread too. I need your help, and more importantly, some LGBT kids do too…

The NEU will be writing to the Southwark Archdiocese calling for the reinstatement of both the governing body members and for the visit by Simon James Green to be allowed to go ahead.
The postponing of a visit to John Fisher School by author Simon James Green to celebrate #WorldBookDay & the decision to remove members of the school's governing body, is a matter of grave concern. It sets a terrible precedent for LGBT+ rights & representation at the school.
Over the last week, @NEUnion has been in negotiations with @GDST.
The trust has made an offer that proposes cutting its pension contribution, which will make it harder to recruit and retain teachers.
