Free School Meal Application Extension
We would like to remind families that, from September 2026, all children living in households receiving Universal Credit may be eligible for free school meals, although an application must still be made.
The Department for Education has announced a one-off extension to the free school meals eligibility deadline. Applications and eligibility checks can now be completed up to 2 November 2026, and will still be included in relevant funding calculations.
Applying for free school meals not only benefits your child by ensuring they can access a nutritious meal during the school day, but it can also help families save money. In addition, eligible applications provide valuable additional funding to schools, helping us to support students through a range of educational opportunities and interventions.
If you think your child may be eligible, we strongly encourage you to apply as soon as possible using the Nottinghamshire County Council online application service:
https://t.co/AhXmVUxhGX
To apply, you will need some basic information, including your National Insurance number (or National Asylum Support Service reference number), date of birth and your child's details.
Kind regards,
Sutton Community Academy

π» It was fantastic to see such hard work, focus and effort from our Year 8 students as they tackled some important computational thinking skills in Computing today!
Students were mastering the art of abstraction, learning how to identify the essential information within a problem, while also developing their skills in creating and refining algorithms.
It was wonderful to see students thinking logically, solving problems and persevering with increasingly challenging concepts. π
A fantastic example of our students developing the digital skills, creativity and resilience they need for the future!
