I do think there’s something lost when Apple is seemingly too embarrassed to showcase a new device on stage. Like I get that Steve Jobs was able to sell a thoroughly underwhelming device like the iPad and that is hard to aspire to but to not even try…
@ParkerOrtolani Criticism isn’t cynicism and when a company is asking a family to add another screen into a screen less space, the bar is rightly high.
I’ve never seen an Apple device more hated on arrival than the HomeView. Usually you have the opposite reaction, where people imbue too much of an expectation on a device (like the iPad).
Truly puzzling product which seems like it went through some kind of forced launch almost.
@drewcoffman@mattcassinelli I really think if this was the first apple device which could generate an app for you to use, it could be a hit.
I’ve never seen so much hate for a new apple product before btw.
@graciehartie F1 is much better at home than in person. You go in person because the races are like a fair or carnival. Lots of stuff to do other than watch the race.
@bowtiedcrake American data costs are high but you gotta consider the costs to blanket a country the size of America in terrestrial infra. They’re better than they used to be!
