I’m a Partner & Group HRD @deabadh.
For 20+ years I’ve worked behind the scenes with senior leaders—coaching through collapse, decoding founder dynamics & rebuilding after things crack.
This is the work that holds.
I think in widening circles.
I test a question against different perspectives, patterns & consequences.
I come back to the same point, but I’m not going around in circles ⭕️ — I’m going deeper.
Eventually, I find the principle underneath.
That’s usually where my answer is.
I can believe that you experienced something as harmful without accepting that your explanation of everything surrounding it must therefore be correct.
Life whizzes.
We can become so focused on getting somewhere that sometimes we barely notice the getting there.
Taking time to pause — rather than just arriving.
The journey matters too.
One of the things I love about history:
People who change the world rarely arrive looking different from everyone else.
Greatness is usually invisible in the moment & only obvious in hindsight.
IRISH ROOTS
Timeless Irish ideas for modern leadership.
Over the coming months, we’ll explore Irish words, traditions and ways of thinking that have endured for centuries—and consider what they still have to teach today’s leaders.
At the heart of Deabadh is a
simple belief.
The urgency of purpose.
Not urgency driven by panic.
Urgency grounded in clarity
and intent.
As Ireland assumes the Presidency of the Council of the European Union, it feels an appropriate moment to begin that conversation.
