I had excellent thesis advisors. But as a #WomanInStem I would also absolutely recommend to other female-identifying grad students that they have at least one woman on their thesis committee.
On another note, my husband - and fellow Dr - is a non-native English speaker and reading his 150-p thesis always leaves me in awe. Massive respect to my #InternationalStudent friends who are doing a very hard thing in an even harder way.
One of my best friends from grad school, @R_Housego, is defending her thesis two weeks from tomorrow! There will be barrier island, hurricanes, and groundwater flooding. Should be great!
