Some interesting data here (even heartening?): Music GCSE entries this year are up by 8.3% and Music A Level by 1.3%

@MrsGleedMusic We’re in a London borough where few schools offer KS5 music so we attract lots of external students for A Level +10% of each yeargroup admitted on music places y7-11 & there’s an expectation they do music at ks4; plus Trust ethos v. much promotes music & singing (v. lucky tbh!)

@MrsGleedMusic large comprehensive school… happily we have good AL / GCSE group sizes but also Btec students in Y10 submitting c/w as well as y11 is why the number is so high… it’s ridiculous! You deserve a large glass of wine & an early night 👏👏👏

@DeputyGrocott 2 teachers here (& HOY)… our now 17 yr old had to charge her phone downstairs overnight until after her GCSEs. since she started Y12 she’s used her phone as she wants to, figure she needs to learn to manage it. Knowing you can access if needed & open discussions are important.
