BREAKING: Iran now believes the U.S. could be preparing a surprise attack after repeatedly normalizing military activity around Iran, with Fars News Agency warning that recent U.S. fighter jet activity and reconnaissance flights could be intended to restore the element of surprise before a new operation.

Fars reported several instances in recent days where U.S. fighter jets took off over the southern Persian Gulf without an attack ultimately taking place, while a U.S. reconnaissance aircraft was also reported near Qeshm Island on September 25.

The agency says the repeated activity could be aimed at making such movements appear routine before the “main operation” is launched when least expected. The IRGC has separately warned that any attempt to launch a new war against Iran would bring a “painful and devastating response.”
