Today we've proudly raised the #veday80thanniversary flag as our country commemorates one of the most momentous days in this nation's history. We pay tribute to that special generation and in particular those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom.
We thank you.
Thank you to everyone who came to our Swanton Morley Neighbourhood Plan event today. It was encouraging to see residents from the village, neighbouring Hoe & Worthing and officials from @BreckCouncil.
Thank you to everyone who came to our neighbourhood plan review meeting last night. This was very positive with constructive discussions about existing and new planning policies for our village including protections for green space and commercial wind & solar energy generation.
A very productive meeting tonight as the Parish Council works on the review of its Neighbourhood Plan. Lots of great suggestions for improvements and additions to policies but also recognition of what the existing plan has achieved for the village.
"They shall not grow old, as we are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them"
On this day in 2010 the late great Roger Lloyd Pack performed on the Swanton Morley Village Hall stage in "Yes - The Adrian Mitchell Show" A lovely man who is sadly missed.

A constructive Parish Council mtg last night debating the @BreckCouncil local plan update. We received a comprehensive report from our planning consultant & unanimously agreed our formal response.
We also welcomed some members of Mileham PC who came to see how we run our mtgs.
We have raised our Royal British Legion DDay80 flag and placed 80 knitted poppies courtesy of Dereham Crafters. Please do join us on the village green at 9.15pm tomorrow for the lighting of our village beacon

The Parish Council is very proud to raise this flag today to commemorate the 200th Anniversary of the founding of the @RNLI. We do hope residents will consider donating to this very worthy cause.
