@INCIndia Maha govt extended lockdown until 30 Sept.
From 21 Aug, Punjab govt has imposed a night curfew on top of a weekend lockdown.Lockdown in Rajasthan and Jharkhand also extended until September 30 to varying degrees.
Yet Chidambram thinks economy is not turning around because of NDA
@INCIndia Congress-ruled States must embrace “Jaan bhi Jahaan bhi” slogan of the Hon’ble Minister and refrain from extending lockdown which costs the economy dearly.
Yet this may not happen soon.
@RahulGandhi Several Congress-ruled States and UTs have been implementing sporadic lock-downs of varying duration in a completely unplanned manner.
These have created a lot of uncertainty among businesses and factories and have slowed the nascent economic recovery that was taking place.
@INCIndia@GouravVallabh On July 27, the Indian Railways loaded more freight than it did at the same time last year. On July 27, it loaded 3.13 MT of goods as compared to 3.12 MT on the same date last year, despite the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic.
@INCIndia Over 48.3 million e-way bills were generated in July 2020, higher than June where the total number of bills stood at 43.4 million.Toll collections reached 87% of pre-COVID levels during the second half of July, indicating encouraging signs of recovery.
@INCIndia Industry regaining lost ground:
GST collections have already recovered to 85-90% of their levels in the same period of last year. It must be kept in mind that the last dates for tax filing were extended due to COVID and so have not passed yet.
@INCIndia Industry regaining lost ground:
At end-June, power consumption had recovered to 92% of the demand seen in FY20. In July, this difference narrowed further, with power consumption only 2.64% lower than July 2019.
@RahulGandhi Industry regaining lost ground:
Petroleum consumption in June 2020 and July 2020 were 92% and 88.3% of the levels seen in June and July of last year, with most of the recovery coming from industrial fuels like naphtha, bitumen, and petroleum coke.
Millions people's are save because of lockdown. The economy has suffered a huge loss to the whole world, but India is rapidly improving its economy today...
Even as many countries are stumbling, India has seized control of its destiny, is recovering, and making bold plans
