I feel inclined to believe that there comes a point in some of our lives when we essentially die a psychological death. And no matter what happens after that point of time, it doesn't really make a lasting mark on the fact of our existence anymore.
We continue living, things happen, we meet people, sometimes even grand changes take place in our lives but nothing really touches us anymore. Because it all feels so false.
Joy begins to feels like a distant echo, grief loses its sharpness. One might laugh, one might even love, but the thread that connected one intimately with one's aliveness feels severed.
And somewhere we keep reminiscing and longing about the life that we had before that moment of psychological death.

Have Pakistan ever prompted peace? Called out terrorists or have ever gone on record to say that what they are doing in the name of your religion is wrong and it is tainting the reputation of your religion? No authority on your religion has ever done that. But when they are given the taste of your own medicine, it does taste bitter doesn't it?
