भारत रत्न उस्ताद बिस्मिल्ला खान ने 1930 में इलाहाबाद में कार्यक्रम किया। यहीं से उनकी शहनाई की खुशबू फैलने लगी। 1937 में 20 साल की उम्र में कोलकाता की ऑल इण्डिया म्यूज़िक कॉंफ्रेंस में शामिल हुए।इतनी सराहना मिली कि फिर कभी पीछे मुड़कर नहीं देखा।
