i hate to admit it but people were right this whole time. waking up at a reasonable hour, making better food choices, consistently going to the gym, and sticking to a routine DRASTICALLY improves your mental health and quality of life.
@nathanias@ChrisAlvino Yeah some people are fine but there’s a good percentage that do have complications that they wouldn’t have if they didn’t get lasik. A lot of eye issues start in our 40s to 50s. Women after menopause, diabetics, Asian ethnicities and daily contact users should just be careful.
@ChrisAlvino Our eyes are one of the most sensitive parts of our body so discomfort in that area should not be taken lightly. Women are especially high risk because the eyes get dryer once they hit menopause. Diabetics are also fairly high risk for dry eye disease.
@ChrisAlvino Thank you for bringing this up! I worked as an optometric technician for a year and the risks should be talked about more. Most common being dry eye disease which sounds deceivingly less serious than it actually is. It can cause pain, cornea damage, photophobia or vision loss.

@Rstonius@itsjadeyanh This post is about women’s experience in male dominated spaces. I get that gaming was stigmatized before but it was by both men AND women. We’re saying we don’t feel welcome to enjoy the same hobbies you do because of our gender. There’s a lot of harassment and misogyny we go -
