I've noticed a lot of people on Twitter claim to support recovery, right up until someone in recovery speaks up.
Then suddenly their past becomes the only thing that matters.
I know because I've experienced it myself.
If you're judging people who struggled with addiction by the worst things they did while they were sick even after they've gotten sober, taken accountability and rebuilt their lives, then you don't believe in recovery.
You believe people should be punished forever.
That mindset is part of the reason people stay silent, hide their struggles, and never reach out for help.
Recovery is supposed to be about change, redemption and second chances.
If someone's turned their life around and all you can see is their past, the problem isn't them.
It's you. 🫵🏼
I grew up in the world of figure skating, a setting that many, many gay men seem to gravitate towards. You can't come on my TL & insult gay folk. They're my people.
This acct's marked safe for the LGBTQ crowd.🌈
I just want to wish a Happy 4th day of Pride Month to @Greg53306136184 and @Fatal15f2.
