Here's Chris Finch when asked about Micah Nori's contract in Portland being for just one guaranteed season.
"The first thing I would like to say about that is I thought it was a shame that a lot of the story about Micah's great opportunity was overshadowed by the nature of the deal that he signed. That's a personal decision. That's a business decision. That's between him the team and the agent...."
"I just know this: There's 30 of these jobs. They're hard to get...."
"I also know that you gotta bet on yourself in this world. And especially when you're an outsider. We consider ourselves a little bit of outsiders. We weren't raised in the game. We didn't play at North Carolina or Duke. So sometimes your path is just different and you gotta take chances along the way."
Monty Williams opens up about the weight of being an NBA head coach and how quickly the job can pull you into survival mode.
“I was just working to stay in it…Some of it is survival, some of it is insecurity and if you’re not careful, it just becomes who you are.”
One of the strange things about coaching is that you can accomplish things you've dreamed about for years and still feel like you're barely hanging on.
Being in "survival mode" has a way of making it difficult to appreciate what you've built because you're constantly worried about what comes next.
I'm not saying everyone experiences it this way, but I do think one of the greatest risks for many coaches isn't losing the job.
It's realizing you've spent so much time building your career that you've lost touch with the person building it.

LeBron James reveals he didn't know what a pantry was until high school
“I went to my high school coach's house and I asked him, ‘Can I get a snack or some chips or whatever?’ He was like, ‘Yeah, just go in the pantry.’ I'm like, ‘What the fuck is the pantry?’”
“Where I grew up, everything is on top of the refrigerator. The bread, the chips, the cereal, everything is on top of the refrigerator. I don't know what the hell a pantry is”
“That was my motivation right there. I'm like I got to give my mama a pantry”
Still can’t believe how quickly Cade Cunningham has flipped this Pistons franchise.

Absolute superstar with all the intangibles.
Damian Lillard's full answer on if he was considering a return during the playoffs.
Dame says he never told anyone he wanted to return, but the Blazers probably gathered that from the way he had adjusted his routine. Also said people expecting him to be a playoffs hero were unrealistic.
A LOT of good insight in here.
