Every School Board Trustee should be required to sub 3 times per semester (Elem, MS, HS), ride a bus route, read an IEP, attend an ARD, go to a faculty meeting for Q&A, sit w/ a PLC, review a TTESS rubric, AND proctor one STAAR a year. Who’s with me on this?

I’m so sick of seeing the “teachers quit cause of bad admin” posts.

No. Teachers ALSO quit because…

- wage isn’t livable
- no support from school board
- parents who work against them
- unrealistic expectations
- unlivable work hours

And MANY other things.

Can we stop acting like everything is the admin fault? Yes, there are TERRIBLE admin out there. But there are so many areas we can work on instead of always placing the blame in one place.

Teachers don’t need toxic positivity.

We don’t need 5% off at Hobby Lobby one week a year.

We don’t need discount oil changes or nacho bars in the teacher’s lounge, mugs, or catchy shirts.

We need respect. We need trust from the community. We need to be paid adequately!

Here are all of the party-line TX Reps that voted against a $10,000 pay raise for public school teachers. @StanKitzmanTX was a public school teacher & clearly doesn’t have our backs. I met with @RepSchofield’s office this week & they said he supported our teachers. All talk. 👎🏼

Our Community Circle took place on Google Jamboard this week! Students posted a sticky note about what they were dreaming about 💭 It is SO wonderful that we still get to connect as a community and share our ideas ! Someone special in our community added ❤️s to our responses!
